Have Rocket, Will Travel, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: The Three StoogesMoe Howard as Moe Larry Fine as Larry Joe DeRita as Curly-Joe Plot: When the Stooges accidently blast off to Venus, they encounter an alien computer who creates evil duplicates of them. Extras:
My Thoughts: Not to bad for their first feature length film. I even enjoyed Curly-Joe more then I thought I would. He really does remind me a lot of Curly. The film has a few chuckles in it and a decent story line. I would say an average film... maybe slightly above. I have been a fan of the TV series since my brother first got me into it around the 5th season. Then I played catch-up with the dvds when they were first released... Back then the first season retailed for $150.00 and I bought them for $100 per season... Now ... looking back and seeing what season sets cost now it makes me sick... but I enjoyed the series so much that it is really ok! When this movie was released I got my copy right away... and think they did a great job with it... because not only would any X-Files fan love it... it was set up that you didn't have to watch the series to enjoy the movie... so I am sure the series got new fans because of the movie. After watching this movie... I have the urge to watch an X-Files marathon... but 9 seasons of such a show... that just sounds like too much at the moment! The Good Life stars Richard Briers and Felicity Kendal as Tom and Barbara Good, a middle class suburban couple who on Tom's 40th birthday decide to turn their Surbiton home into a self sufficient allotment. They grow their own food, keep farm animals and have sold or bartered all of their electrical appliances as they have no electricity. This creates friction with their best friends and next door neighbours, the Leadbetters (Jerry and Margo) played by Paul Eddington and Penelope Keith. But even though the Goods have lowered the tone of the neighbourhood in the Leadbetters eyes they still can't help but be best of friends Watching this pilot is like pulling on an old cardigan, you immediately feel comfortable, happy and content. Having watched the series several times over the years, it was good to revisit the original episode as a reminder of how and why it all started. The cast of course are like old friends, warm, approachable, self-assured and accomplished from the get-go. Excellent entertainment and a true classic from the seventies.
