The Hangover, a review by TomTitle: The Hangover Year: 2009 Director: Todd Phillips Rating: FSK-12 Length: 108 Min. Video: Widescreen 2.40 Audio: English: Dolby TrueHD 5.1, Audio Descriptive: Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround, French: Dolby Digital 5.1, German: Dolby Digital 5.1 Subtitles: Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Icelandic, Norwegian, Swedish Stars: Bradley Cooper Ed Helms Zach Galifianakis Justin Bartha Heather Graham Plot: They planned a Vegas bachelor party that they would never forget. Now they really need to remember what exactly went down! Whose baby is in the closet of their Caesars Palace suite? How did a tiger get in the bathroom? Why is one of them missing a tooth? And most of all, where is the groom?! What the guys did while partying can't compare to what they must do sober in an outrageous caper that has them piecing together all their bad decisions from the night before - one hazy clue at a time. Director Todd Phillips (Old School) and an all-aces comedy cast bring it big time with unpredictable situations that somehow all fit together. Tie one on with The Hangover. Awards:
Extras: BD-Live Commentary Digital Copy Featurettes Music Videos Outtakes Photo Gallery Picture-in-picture Scene Access My Thoughts: This movie never seemed something that I would particularly enjoy, but because of all the raving reviews out there and because it was on sale, I thought I'd give it chance. Of what I have read this one is supposed to be a laugh riot. But I didn't laugh often. As a matter of fact the first half hour was boring. Then it got better when the guys were trying to find the puzzle pieces of the forgotten night. There were some fun moments, but overall I expected more from it. My Thoughts: I have seen this movie several times on cable... but this is the first time I am seeing it since a good friend gave me the DVD. This is a movie I have always enjoyed quite a bit. It is just a fun movie to watch. I think Tom Hanks did a wonderful job playing an innocent kid inside a grown up body. Though that shouldn't be surprising... he is good in pretty much all he does. Whether it is comedy or serious roles. Unfortunately my friend only had the full screen edition to give me... but I hope to upgrade it to the widescreen if I get the chance. Something with better extras would be nice too.My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From What Movies I Been Watching on January 24th, 2012) Tom's TV Pilots marathon, a review by Tom
Plot: In the fall of 1986, an unsuspecting TV nation met a new kind of comedy hero who made Rambo look like Pee Wee Herman. David Rasche starred as the trigger-happy lawman whose hatred of criminal scum and yogurt eatin' creeps was matched only by his love of excessive force and a .44 Magnum. Over the next two seasons, this hilariously deranged lampoon of DIRTY HARRY and plenty of other targets became one of the most notorious series in television history and launched a rabid cult of fans that grows to this day. This is SLEDGE HAMMER! The complete first season of SLEDGE HAMMER! is now newly re-mastered (including removal of the laugh track) and loaded with an arsenal of exclusive extras that features uncensored footage, all-new interviews with stars David Rasche, Harrison Page and Anne-Marie Martin, audio commentaries and more, all given the "Hammer" seal of approval by Series Creator & Executive Producer Alan Spencer. Sledge Hammer! 1.01 Pilot: Under the Gun Writer: Alan Spencer (Writer) Director: Martha Coolidge Cast: David Rasche (Sledge Hammer), Anne-Marie Martin (Dori Doreau), Harrison Page (Captain Trunk), Leslie Morris (Officer Majoy), Joe Under (Short Guy), Larry Wilmore (Cottage Cheese Clodman), Jesse Aragon (Felix Navidad), D. W. Brown (Luxley), Joanne Baron (Janice Flambo), Don Stark (Kruggle), John Lawlor (Reisner), Judie Aronson (Francine Flambo), John Vernon (Mayor Jack Flambo) I really enjoyed this series when I first seen it on TV. I still like it. It's a Dirty Harry parody. I still have to think of Sledge Hammer when I see David Rasche in something. Rating: (From Tom's TV Pilots marathon on July 5th, 2012) |
