The Nurse, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: The Nurse Movie Count: 47 TV Ep Count: 8 Time Started: 3:30pm Plot: When her father kills himself and his family after being named in an embezzlement scandal, nurse Laura Harriman (Lisa Zane, Monkeybone) vows revenge on the man responsible. She soon gets her chance when his accuser (Michael Fairman, Dead Silence) suffers a stroke that leaves him paralyzed and mute - the perfect victim. After becoming his private nurse, the "angel of death" sets out on a psychotic killing spree that will complete her descent into madness and destroy an innocent family... one by one. My Thoughts: OK... this is different. According to the cover this movie is Rated R. But watching this movie... everything about it shouts TV Movie of the Week. Not saying that is a bad thing... I thought the story was pretty good. But the feel of the movie... the production value and the effects all screamed TV Movie. It even had the almost required TV Series actress in it. In this case Nancy Dussault (Muriel Rush on Too Close for Comfort)... who even though was starting to show her age looked much the same in this 1997 movie. If there wasn't for one case of cursing and one slit throat I would have been completely convinced it was a TV movie. But as I said... the story was pretty good. So I am not disappointed I got it. Is one I can enjoy again. My Rating Out of a Possible 5 (From My Month Long Horror/Halloween Marathon: 2008 on October 12th, 2008) Run Ronnie Run!, a review by TomMOVIE / DVD INFO: Title: Run Ronnie Run! Year: 2002 Director: Troy Miller Rating: R Length: 87 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85 Audio: English: Dolby Digital 5.1 , English: Dolby Digital Surround Subtitles: English Stars: David Cross Bob Odenkirk Plot: Realty TV gets a reality check in 'Run Ronnie Run!', a hilarious comedy starring David Cross and Bob Odenkirk of HBO's "Mr. Show". Ronnie Dobbs (Cross) is a drunken, mullet-haired criminal who can't seem to keep himself from getting arrested. When spotted once again on a national reality show, a Hollywood TV producer, Terry Twillstein (Odenkirk), gets the brilliant idea to base an entire show on Ronnie himself. Overnight, Ronnie is a national TV star and the toast of Hollywood! But it isn't long until clean living and morality get the better of him and he can't get arrested anymore, no matter how hard he tries. Is this the end of his career... or the beginning of a new one? Featuring cameos from an all-star comedy cast, 'Run Ronnie Run!' is non-stop insanity that turns reality TV on its head! Extras: Closed Captioned Deleted Scenes DVD-ROM Content Music Videos Scene Access Trailers My Thoughts: Based on a skit from the great comedy show "Mr. Show". Although not near as good as the TV show this movie is fun to watch. There are also a lot of cameos to be seen in this movie. This movie had a hard post-production history and is because of this disowned by Bob & David. By the way, if you have not seen "Mr. Show" I definetely recommend it. It is often seen as a modern Monty Python show. There, each of them gains magical talents and abilities, all the better to survive their time in the Realm. The bow-shooting ranger, the acrobat, the thief, the cavalier, the boy wizard, and the barbarian are soon joined by a baby unicorn and tutored by the mysterious and inscrutable Dungeon Master. Opposing them is the evil Sorcerer Venger, as well as various ogres, demons, bounty hunters, dragons, lizard men, skeleton warriors and more, all intent on keeping the kids from getting back home! The Night of No Tomorrow The group finds Merlin, looking for a magic spell to get home Presto casts a spell only to release a horde of dragons attacking the nearby village. My Thoughts: This is a cartoon I used to watch back when I was a teen. I bought the DVD set for pure nostalgic reasons alone. When I saw the set so cheap I just couldn't help myself. The show is not as good as I remember it.. but it is entertaining enough and gives enough nostalgic value that it is worth the $9.86 I paid for the set. I never realized it when I was a kid... but it is now so obvious that the actor supplying the voice for Eric is none other then Donny Most (Ralph Mouth on Happy Days).
