St. Francisville Experience, a review by addicted2dvd

Title: St. Francisville Experience
Movie Count: 87
TV Ep Count: 39
Other  Count: 2
Time Started: 7:30am
Plot:
Four people - a psychic, a ghost-hunter, a filmmaker and a historian - all trained in the paranormal and equipped with cameras, agreed to spend the night in a house rumored to be haunted. This is their footage. This is their story.

My Thoughts:
This movie is made in the same way as Blair Witch Project... where they try to make you think you are watching a real documentary.  In my opinion... it was done much better then Blair Witch was though. But that could have something to do with my enjoying haunted house stories so much... and touches on something I used to love to do when I was a teen... explore old abandoned houses. I would say if you enjoyed Blair Witch Project when it came out... you should definitely give this one a chance as well.

My Rating

Coraline, a review by RossRoy

Coraline
WHAT THEY SAY
From the director of The Nightmare Before Christmas comes a visually stunning stop-motion animated feature - the first to be filmed in 3-D! Discover how the filmmakers and artisans created the magical handmade world of Coraline, exclusively in this 2-Disc Collector's Edition!

Coraline Jones is bored in her new home until she finds a secret door that leads her into a world that's just like her own. . .but better! But when this fantastical adventure turns dangerous and her "other" Mother tries to keep her forever, Coraline must conunt on her resourcefulness and bravery to get home.

MY THOUGHTS
Wonderful movie! Sure, it's a kid movie mostly, but it is so marvelously animated and so well told. But what struck me the most is how smooth the animation is despite being stop-motion. The amount of detail that was poured into frame is mind boggling, especially considering this is essentially a kid movie. I loved the character designs, and how they fit their personalities so well. Also, and that's a big plus for this movie, I thought it had a quasi "Burtonesque" quality to it with its visual style.

For those wondering, I watched the 2D version. I can't stand the 3D with those blue/red glasses. They give me headaches.

Death Note anime/manga/movies comparison, a review by Tom

06. Unraveling

- the agents meet L for the first time. While introducing themselves, L points his fingers like a pistol at them and says "peng". He explains they would be dead now if he were Kira. He cautions them to not use their real names. L tells them of this theory that Kira must be among the people observed by the FBI in a specific time-frame
- Light and family discuss bringing his father a change of clothes. Light volunteers.
- Naomi goes to the police headquarters. Light and Naomi meet up. Light tells her, that he can help her with meeting the investigation team. Naomi tells him of her theories. Light notices, that she is very close to linking him with Kira.

Manga: The first half of the episode is covered in manga chapter 11, the second half in chapter 12

Movies: Very similar. I love how L potrays the "peng"-scene in the movie.
