Blue Collar Comedy Tour: The Movie, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Blue Collar Comedy Tour: The Movie Year: 2003 Director: C. B. Harding Rating: PG-13 Length: 106 Min. Video: Pan & Scan 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1 Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars: Jeff Foxworthy Bill Engvall Ron White Larry The Cable Guy David Alan Grier Chris Cagle Plot: Hilarious stuff here, friends and neighbors. And the laughs aren't just aimed at folks who think Caddyshack is where ma and pa park the car. 'Cause the little secret behind the #1 comedy concert of the past two years is that its topics - marriage, kids, traveling - are so universal. And so wackily warped when seen through the perspective of standout stand-ups Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, Ron White and Larry the Cable Guy. This concert movie captures the fellas on stage as well as during off hours. So hunker down and catch each of the comics in a solo bit. Then see them in a kind of 4-man comedy jam. Jeff's "redneck" riffs, Bill's "Here's Your Sign," Ron's bad-boy tales, Larry's bumpkin yarns - they're all here. And all gall-durn funny! Extras: Scene Access Production Notes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: Today I felt like a bit of comedy... and I been wanting to watch this movie since I first found out I was getting it. I am a big fan of most of the comedians on this show. The idea of not only seeing their comedy routines but the behind the scenes footage of them on tour just seemed like a lot of fun to me. And let me tell you I loved every bit of the stand-up in this movie. While some of the behind the scenes isn't what I was expecting. I was expecting something more documentary style. But all this was is them doing skits at public places such as a mall or a spa. Some of which was also funny... but for the most part I found it to be more of a let down then enjoyable. But as I was saying... the stand up concert portions was just hilarious... I was laughing so hard at these fools that tears were coming to my eyes. And by the end of the movie my cheeks were hurting. My Thoughts: This is the first time I have seen this one in years... probably since it first came out in the '80s. The story holds up well... even if the special effects has not. But then would you really expect them to on a film like this? I found this film to be a lot of fun. I have read reviews putting down the Beta Unit... the robot that stayed on Earth to tak Alex's place. But I enjoyed those scenes as well. This one is well worth the time put in to watch it. This is one I recommend checking out if you never seen it. My Rating: (From What Movies I Been Watching on August 11th, 2014) "Big Bang Theory" Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd4. The Luminous Fish Effect Fish nightlights. Hand-loomed ponchos. A visit from Mom. Things get freaky when Sheldon gets fired. My Thoughts: This was a good episode.. though not what I would call great.I liked that another Roseanne alumni was in this episode. This time it was Laurie Metcalf (Aunt Jackie) playing Sheldon's mother. Brittany really liked the luminous fish. 5. The Hamburger Postulate Leonard's relationship with co-worker Leslie takes an unexpected turn, causing Sheldon to ponder the meaning of a tie on the doorknob. My Thoughts: This is a fun episode... and the second time Sara Gilbert (Darlene on Roseanne) has guest starred in an episode. Brittany worried me a little on this one. She laughed at Sheldon calling Leonard in the middle of sex to let him know message received. and stated how wrong that was. My 12yr. old daughter already knows that is uncalled for... what a proud moment for a father... not! :-p 6. The Middle Earth Paradigm Leonard discovers "hobbit" is the wrong costume to wear to Penny's Halloween party when her ex-boyfriend shows up. Also, Sheldon is not a zebra. My Thoughts: This is a really fun episode... one of my favorites. Of course that may have something to do with it being a Halloween episode... I really do love Halloween episodes of my favorite shows. I am sure I will be watching this one again for my Horror/Halloween Marathon. Penny's ex boyfriend (from Pilot episode) is back for this one. And of course once again Leonard and Sheldon has a confrontation with him. (From "Big Bang Theory" Marathon on September 23rd, 2008) |
