Altered States, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Altered States Year: 1980 Director: Ken Russell Rating: R Length: 103 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1, Pan & Scan 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital 5.1, French: Dolby Digital Surround Subtitles: English, French Stars: William Hurt Blair Brown Bob Balaban Charles Haid Thaao Penghlis Plot:Extras: Scene Access Trailers Cast/Crew Bios Closed Captioned My Thoughts: I am embarrassed to say that I bought this movie back in April of 2003... and I am just now getting around to watching it. First thing coming to my mind is damn this is a weird movie! But did I like this movie? Well, I found it weird... but interesting. It definitely kept me entertained... but I swear there is stuff that happened in this movie I am still not sure I understood! My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: Unwatched DVDs on January 7th, 2010) Desk Set, a review by DragonfireDesk Set I had seen bits of this one on tv different times. I finally watched all of it after I found it on HBO not long ago. The plot is fairly simple, but it is really entertaining, mostly because of Spencer and Hepburn. They are wonderful together. I have no idea how accurate the computer - or electronic brain as it was called at times in the movie - is. I do know that the first computers were huge, but I don't know that there were any when the movie came out. I really enjoyed the movie and think it is worth watching, though the plot may seem too simple to some people. I did post a review at Epinions. Desk Set (From Marie's Random Movie Viewing on August 26th, 2011) "Due South" marathon, a review by addicted2dvdA Cop, A Mountie And A Baby This is a great episode... I enjoyed every second of it. Matter of fact this is (IMO) the best episode since the pilot movie. It is a great storyline. I also liked that Diefenbaker was a big part of this episode. I missed him in the last couple episodes where he was barely there. They really fell into something great when they decided on having the wolf in this series. But one thing I notice is they seemed to forget all about the wolf being deaf thing. There has been a few times now that they showed Fraser give Diefenbaker commands without looking him in the face to do so. Or am I just imagining things?
