The Tooth Fairy, a review by addicted2dvd

Title: The Tooth Fairy
Movie Count: 58
TV Ep Count: 17
Time Started: 5:30pm
Plot:
Northern California, 1949: In the woods outside of a small town, a hideous witch lured children to her crumbling home where she stole their teeth, butchered their bodies, and cursed their souls to wander the earth forever. Decades later the house has been converted into a quaint country inn, but an untold evil remains: The witch's slumber has been disturbed, and her vengeful spirit seeks the violent slaughter of all who stay there. And for one eleven-year-old girl with a loose molar and an active imagination, the ultimate horror begins with a visit from THE TOOTH FAIRY.

My Thoughts:
Another one I have never seen before. It was a good movie.... but not a great movie. It is definitely worth watching... but at the same time I am glad I spent less then $10 for it. I would have probably been a little disappointed if I spent more then I did on it. One thing I liked about this one is that it was more then just a movie about a witch... it was also a movie about ghosts... ghosts that needed help to get rid of the witch so their souls could finally find peace. For those that don't like gore... be warned that this one has a few scenes of gore in it. So over-all I would say this is a solid (slightly) above average movie.

House on Haunted Hill, a review by addicted2dvd

House on Haunted Hill
One night in the house, one million bucks, no questions asked. But there is a catch for anyone who accepts the offer. Murder is a way of life at the 'House on Haunted Hill', a jolting, effects-ramped remake of the 1959 cult classic that starred Vincent Price and was directed by screen horror legend William Castle. Geoffrey Rush plays twisted theme park bigshot Steven Price, who's hosting a scary/jokey birthday bash for his wife (Famke Janssen) at an abandoned institute for the criminally insane. Taye Diggs, Ali Larter, Bridgette Wilson, Peter Gallagher and Chris Kattan portray strangers mysteriously assembled for the event that could make them all very rich. Or profoundly dead. And you? We won't start the party without you.

My Thoughts:
I remember when I first heard they were making this movie. All I could say at the time was WHY!?!?! But after watching it I decided that even though a remake wasn't needed... they did a pretty good job on it. I did (and still do) enjoy it. That is not to say it is as good as the original... because there is no way it could be. In the original Vincent Price was perfect in the role... and Geoffrey Rush just didn't cut it in my opinion. I do like how they changed the role name to Stephen Price.... a little homage to Vincent Price there? But other then that it is a decent horror movie.... I would even say above average.

My Rating:
Out of a possible 5:

Pete's Pilots, a review by addicted2dvd

Joan of Arcadia

Pilot
Joan Girardi (Amber Tamblyn) is sent on a mission to get a job - by a cute boy who claims to be God. Meanwhile, Joan's dad Will Girardi (Joe Mantegna), the new chief of police, struggles to solve the case of a serial killer.

My Thoughts:
This is a series I never missed when it originally aired. It is a good Fantasy/Drama series. This pilot episode does a good job at introducing everyone. And it has a good storyline. After watching this episode I feel like I could watch the entire run (2 seasons) again. But I will hold off on that. Besides... just the idea of doing it reminds me of how it was canceled after the second season... when the second season ended on a cliffhanger! How I hate that!

My Rating:
