The Haunting of Whaley House, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Alex Arleo as Jake Arielle Brachfeld as Vanessa Graham Denman as Craig Stephanie Greco as Penny Carolina Groppa as Giselle Plot: When a tour guide breaks into America's Most Haunted House, a bit of amateur ghost hunting with friends turns into more horror than they could have ever imagined. Extras:
My Thoughts: This is one I never heard of until I bought it. I figured the overview sounded good and it was cheap. I am not disappointed I got it... but it really pretty much an average haunted house flick. It is a decent story and some good effects. I think if they would have polidshed it up just a little more they would really have something. Worth a watch... just don't expect too much. My Thoughts: I remember watching this one back in the '80s... and enjoying it well enough. But I haven't watched it since until now. It is still a decently fun film. though my memory of it was better then it actually was. The film definitely has an '80s feel to it. So it is probably a little dated... but I still found it worth the time put in to watch it. I both the 2 disc blu-ray box set with this and the sequel Blues Brothers 2000. I don't ever remember seeing the sequel but it has my curiosity piqued as it has John Goodman in it. I fancied a change from the typical fare, so dipped into a couple of documentary series around cooking/nature. Not sure what it is about survival programmes and how to live off the land, but with Ray Mears the series are always fascinating and enlightening. This original episode from Wild Food is no exception, and was totally absorbing, following the traditional methods of Australian Aboriginees and their diets and hunting/gathering in the wild.
