Revenge of the Nerds, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Robert Carradine as Lewis Anthony Edwards (1962) as Gilbert Timothy Busfield as Poindexter Andrew Cassese as Wormser Curtis Armstrong as "Booger" Plot:Extras:
My Thoughts: This one... while not quite as good as I remembered it to be is still some fun entertainment. Of course my tastes has changed since the last time I seen it back in my teens. But still today this film is worth a watch... a fun flick with a good message. One of the extras on the blu-ray disc is the pilot episode what was an attempt of a TV sitcom version of the film. The pilot basically runs the same story line of the movie but no where near as good. The whole revenge part was rushed... made no sense... and was never explained. Rating: (From What Movies I Been Watching on June 27th, 2017) Good Luck Chuck, a review by addicted2dvdGood Luck Chuck Dane Cook stars in this hilarious comedy about the luckiest guy on earth. Meet Charlie Logan (Cook), he's a good luck charm and women are guaranteed to find true love after they sleep with him. But what seems like a blessing feels like a curse when he meets Cam (Jessica Alba), the girl of his dreams. Chuck will do anything - and anyone - to break the curse and get the girl in this raunchy, outrageous story. My Thoughts: This is a movie I borrowed from the library to see if I want to add it to my collection. I never been much of a fan of Dane Cook... but I absolutely adore Jessica Alba. I been a big fan of hers since the old Dark Angel days. Not only was she funny and adorable... she was as sexy as I have ever seen her in this movie! And Dane Cook didn't irritate me as much as he normally does... so he didn't hurt my enjoyment of this movie at all. It seems most romantic comedies out there is no more then rated PG-13... so it was refreshing to see something up above that rating for a change. I really had a good time watching this movie... and will definitely be adding it to my collection. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: 5/22 - 5/24 on May 24th, 2009) Angel Marathon, a review by DJ DoenaDisc 3 Hero Synopsis: A group of pure-blood demons who call themselves "The Scourge" hate all the half-demons and they try to destroy all of them because they "pollute" the demon blood. Angel & co try to help a group of refugees to escape from these demons. My Opinion: Too bad that Doyle (Quinn) had to leave the show so early, that came a bit unexpected. On the other hand when it comes to Whedon you have to be aware that any main character could die at any time. The parallels to the Nazis in this episode were quite obvious, although I have to say the the looks and the uniforms of the demons had a much closer resemblance to the Cromaggs from "Sliders" - but they were also characterized as similar to the Nazis. Parting Gifts Synopsis: While Angel and Cordelia mourn for their dead friend, Cordelia has to realize that she inherited something very special from him. Now she has the gift to get visions from the "Powers That Be" (PTB). Additionally there is a new demon hunter in town and he is after the newest client of Angel's.My Opinion: Wesley?! That could become interesting. I presume he will give the show a humorous touch - at least that was my impression after seeing how he behaved in this episode. Let's see what they make of it. Somnambulist Synopsis: Angel dreams, that he is killing people again. As it soon becomes clear, this dreams become reality, but it isn't Angel who sucks the blood out of this people. But it is his fault. My Opinion: Now that he is in the intro I am sure, Wesley (Alexis Denishof) will be a part of the show for quite some time. I also did wonder when someone from Angel's/Angelus's past would appear and I am counting on it that it will happen again. The fact that the detective now knows what Angel is should be a guarantee for some exciting events in the future. (From Angel Marathon on February 13th, 2008) |
