Ok, I know a lot didn't like Ang Lee's The Hulk, but I thought it was one of the bravest and best comic adaptations so far. It just needed more mindless action. Well, we get that here in spades. Especially the mindless part.

It was a shame they seemed to quietly disregard the first film, as it was an excellent basis to start from. While the action with The Hulk is suitably relentless and rage-filled, the action with Bruce Banner on the run is too over the top, both thanks to Transporter director Letterier. For instance, the first act was a nice plot with Banner trying to keep his cool while falling for the local girl and fighting the local thugs. It made perfect sense for that to be reason enough to Hulk-out and cause a depressed Banner to go back on the run, after demolishing the town, but no; We have to have the stupid drop-of-blood coincidence bullshit, leading to all out fucking war. Nice cameo from Stan Lee, otherwise, too noisy and muddled. Good idea, screwed up.

In the cast, they had great actors capable of pulling off the balance between drama and action, but instead they drowned them in noise. Norton was especially good at showing Banner as scared by his own memories.

The effects were very good (again, nothing wrong with the "don't make me Ang Lee" version) and the middle action sequence particularly Incredible (nice documentary style camera work) and the final battle are great fun, with cute Hulk-isms (police car boxing gloves! Thunderclap! It speaks!), but this story deserves better. It is at heart, such a sad character and is capable of Frankenstein style empathy, but a brief musical interlude and funny cameo from Lou Ferrigno is the closest I think we will ever get to the charm of the TV series, or comic for that matter. Bruce Banner may soon be lost to a complicated multi-film arc and the chance to make a really good stand-alone version has passed.

It needed bigger, greener balls, but The Hulk was a far better film.

Plot:
Herman Umgar (Herb Robins), an eccentric club-footed hermit with a fondness for night crawlers, lives in an old windmill house on the banks of a dried-up lakebed. Upon learning that only Herman stands in the way of a new condominium development, the town mayor and several businessmen conspire to get rid of this human obstacle by having him committed to the local loony bin. However, Herman's worm breeding pays off when he unleashes hordes of his wriggling friends to infiltrate the town's food and water supply - and soon the entire population goes worm crazy!

My God this film is bad! Usually a feature produce by Ted Mikels is not the best one in the world, but it had some entertainment value. Where to start... No one in the cast possess a minimum of acting talent, even Robins who is an experienced actor is bad here (he use a very bad German accent and I can't understand half of what he say). In fact the only reason why everyone is cast is because they don't find it disgusting to eat worms. Talking of worms eating, we see that with a big zoom in on the mouth. It's not beautifull, it's disgusting and I don't find it tastefull to see almost the inside of the mouth of someone who eat (by chance I was not eating at the same time). The story is not important, if the director doesn't care why would I? This film exist to be gross and that's all... Not everything is completly bad : the theme song is funny (that's why I add the opening title for your enjoyment. Don't worry all we see is cartoon, no worm eating).

I can't recommand this at all! Except if you want something to use when you want your guest to get out of the house.

Pilot
During a routine trip from Sydney, Australia, to Los Angeles, Oceanic flight 815 is blown off course and crashes on a remote, deserted island. Convinced that rescue is coming soon, the surviving passengers set up camp on the beach and try to make the most of what they think will only be a short time on the island. One fo the 48 survivors, Dr. Jack Shephard, suggest that they find the transceiver in the front of the plan so they can radio for help. But when a terrifying howl comes from the jungle, it becomes apparent that this is no ordinary island.

My Thoughts:
This is a series that I only watch on DVD. Unfortunately I am very far behind as I still only have the first 2 seasons. While I still enjoyed the show. I discovered the re-watch value was just not as high as the first time I watched it. Maybe it was just that I really wasn't much in the mood to watch this today but I found it to be good but not as exciting as the first time I saw it.
