Robin Hood (1973 Animated), a review by Dragonfire

Robin Hood

A long time ago, in a faraway land, legend tells an extraordinary tale of courage and friendship...

Get ready for swashbuckling adventure, unforgettable characters, memorable music and lots of laughs in Disney's Robin Hood, one of the most cherished animated films of all time.

Heroic Robin Hood--along with his trusted companion Little John and his devoted band of merry men--conjures up one famously funny and daring deed after another to outfox greedy Prince John and bring happiness to the residents of Sherwood Forest.

The Most Wanted Edition DVD also features a forest full of merriment with a never-before-seen alternate ending, all-new games and Disney Song Selection, plus a new digital transfer, 5.1 Surround Sound and much more!

My Thoughts

I decided to watch this one again for the first time in years.  I remember some parts from when I saw it years ago, but I had forgotten some things.

The movie does have a different take on the legend of Robin Hood since the characters are animals.  It is a simpler version of the story that still works to be entertaining.  This movie is a good one to introduce kids to the character.  Some different things happen and there are also some things that have been in other movies with the character as well.  There is a bit of action in a few scenes from some archery and a few fights that do add a bit of action.  The animation is done well for when the movie was made, though of course, it isn't anywhere near what can be done with animation now.  The animation does have a slightly dated look, though I do think it has held up well overall.

I still enjoy this movie and think it is worth watching.

License to Kill, a review by Dragonfire

James Bond turns renegade to hunt down a master criminal in this pulse-pounding thrill-ride that's packed with awesome stunts, subtle humour and explosive confrontations. Timothy Dalton brings urgency, charm and deadly determination to his portrayal of the superagent, who leaves the British Secret Service and begins a fierce vendetta after his friend Felix Leiter (David Hedison) is brutally attacked by drug lord Franz Sanchez (Robert Davi).

My Thoughts

Ok..I just did not like this movie at all.  I tried and gave it a chance, but I was so bored with it I kept watching the clock and I can't imagine watching it again.  The plot had potential, but I just didn't care for the way it was handled.  I get that James and Felix have been friends for a long time, but James seemed more upset by what happened to Felix than he had with what happened to Tracey and that just seems wrong to me.  There was a minor reference to her and at first I thought there was going to be something with James having to deal with unresolved feelings tied to what happened to her after he was the one that found Della ..or Delia..whatever.  I think that would have made the movie better instead of just having Bond on a revenge mission.  He was done right vicious at times, and I didn't think that fit the character right.  I just didn't like it.  Dalton is ok, but he just isn't James to me like the other actors have managed to be.  The women aren't impressive at all and were just annoying.  The theme song and the music in general sucked.  The only good thing about the movie was when Q turned up and ended p playing a bigger part.

Oh...I'm watching Serenity on Sci-fi right now and according to a commercial, 2 Bond movies are going to be on the channel in a few days.  Since when is Bond sci-fi?

Weekend Movie Marathon: TV Show Reunion Movies, a review by addicted2dvd

A Very Brady Christmas
Mike and Carol Brady decide to spend their savings on bringing their kids and relatives in for the holidays, but the kids are having their own problems: Greg (now a doctor) has to make the trip alone since his wife Nora is spending the holidays with her family; Peter is embarrassed to bring his girlfriend home since she is his boss; Bobby is hiding the fact that he dropped out of business grad school to race cars; Marcia's husband, Wally, has been laid off from his job at Tyler Toys; Jan and stuffy husband Phillip are separating; and Cindy is tired of the fact that mom and dad can't respect her as a grown woman. Just another day in the life of the Bradys.

My Thoughts:
I wasn't sure I was quite ready for this reunion movie... especially with it being so far out of season. But when Brittany found out I was doing reunion movies for this weekend's marathon... she really wanted to watch the Brady Bunch ones with me. So we decide to go ahead and do it. As I have said while watching the complete series set... I personally always enjoyed the reunion movies more then the series itself. I can say I have a new appreciation for the series... as I enjoyed it more then I thought I would when I watched it again... but think I still prefer the reunion movies. Some reason I really enjoy seeing the Brady kids all grown up. But I do believe this is the last time I will watch this particular reunion movie till the Holiday season comes!
