A Very Brady Christmas, a review by addicted2dvd

A Very Brady Christmas
Mike and Carol Brady decide to spend their savings on bringing their kids and relatives in for the holidays, but the kids are having their own problems: Greg (now a doctor) has to make the trip alone since his wife Nora is spending the holidays with her family; Peter is embarrassed to bring his girlfriend home since she is his boss; Bobby is hiding the fact that he dropped out of business grad school to race cars; Marcia's husband, Wally, has been laid off from his job at Tyler Toys; Jan and stuffy husband Phillip are separating; and Cindy is tired of the fact that mom and dad can't respect her as a grown woman. Just another day in the life of the Bradys.

My Thoughts:
I wasn't sure I was quite ready for this reunion movie... especially with it being so far out of season. But when Brittany found out I was doing reunion movies for this weekend's marathon... she really wanted to watch the Brady Bunch ones with me. So we decide to go ahead and do it. As I have said while watching the complete series set... I personally always enjoyed the reunion movies more then the series itself. I can say I have a new appreciation for the series... as I enjoyed it more then I thought I would when I watched it again... but think I still prefer the reunion movies. Some reason I really enjoy seeing the Brady kids all grown up. But I do believe this is the last time I will watch this particular reunion movie till the Holiday season comes!

Evil Roy Slade, a review by Danae Cassandra

Evil Roy Slade
1972, USA

Orphaned as an infant, Evil Roy Slade grew up alone (save for some vultures) to become the meanest villain in the West.  A notorious outlaw, his robberies have made him a life-long enemy in Nelson Stool, a railroad tycoon.  Yet Evil Roy is perplexed as to what he should do when he falls for a pretty schoolteacher.  She, however, sets out to reform him after declaring her love.

We actually watched this a while ago, I just hadn't written anything yet.  Evil Roy Slade was made for TV, and with the cast you just know it's going to be hilarious (John Astin, Mickey Rooney, Milton Berle, Dom DeLuise).  It's a spoof on the western genre - how often have we seen the story where the no-good outlaw is made right by the love of a beautiful woman?  Yet here Evil Roy gets her involved in his outlaw shenanigans after trying things her way and failing at reforming.  Ultimately Evil Roy stays true to himself.  There are some really great lines in the film; I especially love the one about the dead neighbor and all six apples.

If you like westerns you should enjoy this, since it's hilarious and you'll get all the jokes.  I think it would be funny even for someone who hadn't seen a lot of westerns, but not being that person I can't be sure.

Overall:  3/5

Angel Marathon, a review by DJ Doena

Season 2

Disc 1

Judgement
Synopsis: After Angel accidentally killed the demon bodyguard of a young, pregnant woman he feels obliged to take his role. But the young woman wants nothing to do with hin. On the other hand she needs a champion for the tribunal she has to face.

My Opinion: Karaoke, I love karaoke. :) It was simply cute to see Angel croaking on that stage. And the jousting on the middle of the main road: great idea. I liked that episode.

PS: Addicted, what have you done to me? Everytime someone sings in an episode I can't help but to think of what you would think.

PPS: Did I mention that I bought the "Once More With Feeling" soundtrack? :D

Are You Now, Or Have You Ever Been?
Synopsis: Something strange happened in the long-closed Hyperion Hotel. Angel has lived there in the 1950s and something is pulling him back there.

My Opinion: We have seen it in the first season due to Angel's age we are able to see flashbacks into former times and thus connect the past and the present. I've always liked that in "Highlander" and I did like it here, too.

First Impressions
Synopsis: Cordelia gets a vision of Gunn being in mortal danger, but she can't reach neither Angel nor Wesley. Because Angel has sweet dreams about Darla.

My Opinion: It looks like Darla is indeed becoming the season enemy and I think that could become very interesting. After all, Angel was the best enemy Buffy ever had.

Untouched
Synopsis: A young woman has extreme telekinetic abilities when she feels herself endangered. Angel tries to help but Wolfram & Hart has also an elaborated interest in her.

My Opinion: The Darla plot continues. But Angel is able to rain on the lawyer's parade. What I did notice (again) was the fact that in "Angel" much more humans get killed (I mean the humans that get killed by the good guys) than in "Buffy". Granted they are all bad guys but I noticed it anyway.
