Coco, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars:Plot: Despite his familys baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel (voice of newcomer Anthony Gonzalez) dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (voice of Benjamin Bratt). Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector (voice of Gael Garca Bernal), and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel's family history. Extras:
My Thoughts: Going by the trailer of this one I had the feeling I would enjoy it. And the film did not let me down. I liked how they portrayed all the dead as skeletons. I also like how they portrayed both worlds. And I definately got a kick out of Donte the dog. Time really flew while watching this one as it was over before I knew it. This one definitely gets a recommendation from me. Rating: (From Month Long Marathon: Best Animated Feature Film on May 7th, 2018) Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, a review by DragonfireI recently decided to watch the Harry Potter movies again. I watched the Ultimate Edition versions of all but one of the movies - since that one isn't out yet. I've lost track of how many times I've seen this movie and I still love it. There is an extended version of the movie that has 7 extra minutes. The extra minutes are mostly just a few short bits here and there, but they work well. Some things have been changed from the book, but overall, it is a really good adaptation. The extras with this set are wonderful. There is all kinds of information tied to the making of the first movie. There are interviews with Danial, Emma, and Rupert from when the first movie was filming as well as some done during the filming of other movies too. That really shows how much they have changed since the first movie was made. Most of the one extra is tied to all the work going into making the first movie, but a few things tied to later movies is shared as well. The set has a little book that has lots of pictures. The extras from the original DVD release are also included in the set. The movie looks really good on Blu-ray, and I noticed a lot of little details that I hadn't before. I am pretty sure that I posted about this movie here before. I think I even shared the link to the review at Epinions. I'll share it again just in case I forgot. That review was posted after I saw the movie in the theater. It is one of my older reviews. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (From Marie's Random Movie Viewing on August 8th, 2011) Tom's Random Star Trek Reviews, a review by TomTOS 2.04 Mirror, Mirror Writer: Jerome Bixby (Writer), Gene Roddenberry (Original Characters By) Director: Marc Daniels Cast: William Shatner (Kirk), Leonard Nimoy (Mr. Spock), DeForest Kelley (Dr. McCoy), Barbara Luna (Marlena), James Doohan (Scott), George Takei (Sulu), Nichelle Nichols (Uhura), Vic Perrin (Tharn), Walter Koenig (Chekov), John Winston (Lt. Kyle), Garth Pillsbury (Wilson), Pete Kellett (Kirk's Henchman) I will be running a theme now: The "Mirror Universe" episodes. The beginning is of course the episode, where it all started. One of my favorite TOS episodes. It is responsible that we will forever associate the evil twin with having a beard because of Mr. Spock. It is fun to see the cast in a different light. And of course I always enjoy good parallel universe episodes. Pay attention at the end and you will notice that the last scene of this episode was used in DS9's "Trials and Tribble-ations". The only scene which was not derived from "The Trouble With Tribbels". Rating: (From Tom's Random Star Trek Reviews on September 22nd, 2009) |
