Die Hard, a review by DJ Doena

January, 2nd

Director: John McTiernan

Bruce Willis    ...    Officer John McClane
Bonnie Bedelia   ...    Holly Gennaro McClane
Reginald VelJohnson   ...    Sgt. Al Powell
Paul Gleason   ...    Deputy Police Chief Dwayne T. Robinson
William Atherton   ...    Richard Thornburg
Alan Rickman   ...    Hans Gruber

Synopsis: John McClane is a NY police detective who visits his wife for Christmas. She works as an executive in a company in L.A. and they celebrate not only Christmasbut also the new offices: the Nakatomi Tower. But it isn't a party until someone crashes it. In this case Hans Gruber and his gang, a pretending terrorist but actual thief who wants the 650 million Dollars in bearer bonds in the Nakatomi safe. What he didn't expect was "Roy".

My Opinion: Still a great piece of action cinema. John was one of the first heroes who actually bleed during their lone gunman action but there aren't many people who can keep up with his cool badass attitude. Of course Alan Rickman was also brilliant as the villain and if you ask me he was the best opponent John ever had. Or as Barney put it in How I Met Your Mother: "Charming international bandit. In the end, he dies hard. He's the title character."

Plot:
My Thoughts:
For those who think that I don't review serious films let me prove you are wrong with a very profound documentary... OK not really, seriousness isn't my cup of tea

The documentary isn't really complicated since it's a bunch of well endowed women dancing while they talk about their vision of life (surprisingly their comments are interesting and not always stupid). All of this accompany by a great musical score, so Pete this film isn't for you :P. As a bonus some footage from Europe in the Raw is included in this film (for those who don't know it's a film that Meyer had made in Europe shooting at French and German club). But the most important, at least for me, is the fact that this documentary had the only color footage of Lorna Maitland, she had only appeared in four black and white movies (Lorna, Mudhoney, Hot Thrills and Warm Chills & Hip Hot and 21) during her career.

Not the deepest documentary ever made, but watching those natural girls dancing topless over and over is quite hypnotic... What can I say? I'm a guy

Smallville Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

Season 7: Disc 4

13. HERO
Look who's back. Clark is thrilled to catch up with Pete Ross, his old school pal. And he's dismayed to discover Pete has acquired a meteor power that could leave him vulnerable to exploiters like Lex.

My Thoughts:
This is a good episode. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It was good to see Pete Ross back... been too long without him. I still hope to see him on the show again before it is all over. One thing I have to say about this episode. I don't think they could be more obvious about product placing then they are here. Talk about going overboard.

My Rating:

14. TRAVELER

My Thoughts:
This is a good episode. We now have Supergirl/Kara back. It also makes you wonder if Lionel really is good now or not.

My Rating:

15. VERITAS

My Thoughts:
This is a pretty good episode. Though not as good as the last few. For some reason this one just didn't really hold my interest as much.

My Rating:

16. DESCENT
Lex is driven to discover the secret of Veritas, even if it sets his life on a path of no redemption...even if it means the murder of someone near to him. Another killer also surfaces, a mysterious figure who may be determined to protect Clark's secret.

My Thoughts:
I enjoyed this one. It ios time to say goodbye to one of the main cast. Shame... I always liked the character whether he was playing a good guy, a bad guy or if you just weren't sure.
