My Thoughts:
Boring. I didn't expect much, just your average rom-com fare. But even for that it didn't have anything of interest. Not a single original or even entertaining idea. It was nice though to see Kadeem Hardison again. I haven't seen him in many things since his lead role in the Cosby Show spin-off "A Different World".
Too bad that this was Sydney Pollack's last role before his death.

Contagion, a review by Dragonfire

I decided to go see Contagion last week.

I've seen a few interviews tied to the movie that have doctors and people from the CDC talking about how realistic the spread of the virus is in the movie.

The movie starts with what is the second day after the new virus has infected someone.  It shows how fast the virus spreads and how the CDC starts working fairly quick to try to deal with the situation.  The story is interesting and in some ways rather scary since it is more believable.  A few short scenes quickly show how fast the virus is spreading through things that people touch.  It is enough to make a person a bit paranoid about germs.  I try to be careful about that, and use hand santizer at work since I have to deal with a lot of people during cold and flu season who just won't stay home.

The movie has several characters and jumps around between them all without spending a lot of time with any of them.  That does limit the character development some.  The characters shown are interesting and the cast does a great job.  The pacing is a little slow in a few spots, but it isn't so slow that things get boring.

I didn't care for most of the score used in the movie.  It just felt out of place most of the time and was very distracting.

Overall I really enjoyed the movie and think it is worth seeing.

I did get a review posted on Epinions.

Tom's Random Star Trek Reviews, a review by Tom

VOY 6.12 Blink of an Eye
Writer: Joe Menosky (Screenwriter), Michael Taylor (Original Material By)
Director: Gabrielle Beaumont
Cast: Kate Mulgrew (Captain Kathryn Janeway), Robert Beltran (Chakotay), Roxann Dawson (B'Elanna Torres), Robert Duncan McNeill (Tom Paris), Ethan Phillips (Neelix), Robert Picardo (The Doctor), Tim Russ (Tuvok), Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine), Garrett Wang (Harry Kim), Daniel Dae Kim (Pilot), Obi Ndefo (Protector), Daniel Zacapa (Astronomer), Olaf Pooley (Cleric), Jon Cellini (Technician), Kat Sawyer-Young (Astronaut), Melik Malkasian (Shaman), Walter Hamilton McCready (Tribal Alien), Scarlett Pomers (Naomi Wildman)

Another episode on the same disc. I always found this episode interesting. Voyager is caught in the orbit of a planet, which exists in a different time-frame. One second on Voyager is one day on the planet. The inhabitants are seeing Voyager for centuries and their whole civilization is heavily influenced by the "skyship". We see the evolution from a primitive culture to a spacefaring civilization which ultimately helps Voyager to free itself from the orbit.
