Escape to Witch Mountain, a review by addicted2comics

Escape to Witch Mountain

The Plot: Two kids with amazing gifts search for their real parents while men seek to contain them to learn everything about the pheonominon known as ESP.

MY Thoughts: Off hand, its a pretty cool movie. I personally think its set to a better tone than that Race to Witch Mountain movie. There were some parts that made me lauigh out loud.....like the policman being attacked by the clothes tree.....or that guy seeing a RV fly, and his helicopter flying upside-down. One thing that bothered me was they were chased by dogs, arrested by policmen, held captive by a corperate nut, and they find their parents through.....the phone book??? :-\ It was still good and funny all in all, at the very least worth a 3.5 out of 5.

Screamers: The Hunting, a review by Rich

Screamers: The Hunting

There are times you finish watching a film and regret wasting your time, and others where you purchase a dvd with a lot of expectations and anticipation, only to rue wasting your hard earned dosh. Sadly, this dvd leaves you with both feelings.
It is truly one of the worst cases of a sequel cashing in on the successful original film that I have seen, the actors are second-rate, effects largely unimpressive, storyline non-existent, action sedated, and the suspense rare.
The only highlights were some of the killing shots by the robot/humans, trully gruesome fist in head shots that were impressively delivered.
By far the worst part of the whole movie is the ending, which is so BAD and predictable, that it is nearly funny, the shame is I fear it is a stepping stone for another sequel - god forbid!
Avoid this dismal movie

Pete's Pilots, a review by addicted2dvd

Arrested Development

PILOT
Moments after Michael Bluth decides he's leaving the family business because he was passed over for a promotion, his father is arrested for shady bookkeeping.

My Thoughts:
This is a series I never seen before. Our good friend Roger sent me over all 3 season sets in one of his DVD care packages. If I remember right... this is a show he wasn't able to get into. And going by just the pilot I can understand that. Maybe this is a series that needs to grow on you... but the pilot alone didn't do it to much for me. I did like the fact that Ron Howard narrated this series. I used to watch him on The Andy Griffith Show as Opie all the time. I did also like Jeffrey Tambor in this also. I remember seeing him in many episodes of Three's Company... as various characters.

My Rating:
