Little Big Soldier, a review by Tom

Little Big Soldier

My Thoughts:
This time around I think I chose the wrong movie. This Jackie Chan film I found incredibly boring and it will definately not make it into my collection. I hope the rest of my choices were better.

Valentine, a review by addicted2dvd

Valentine
Revenge is sweet, just like a Valentine bonbon. At least, that is what a vengeful, Cupid-masked killer thinks. Be my Valentine...or else. Broken hearts and other mortal wounds await a cast of contemporary young stars when they play dating-scene veterans dying for love in this humor-laced, twist-filled thriller cleverly directed by Jamie Blanks (Urban Legend) and starring David Boreanaz (TV's Angel), Denise Richards (The World Is Not Enough), Marley Shelton (Sugar & Spice), Katherine Heigl (TV's Roswell) and more. Cards, candy and flowers are nice. But for fans of stalker-shocker terror, there's nothing like a Valentine.

TV Stars:
David Boreanaz (Angel/Bones)
Katherine Heigl (Roswell/Grey's Anatomy)

My Thoughts:
This is one I haven't watched since I first bought the movie 6 years ago... so I went into this one without remembering much of anything... and with low expectations...as the one thing I do remember is that this movie was not well received.... or mixed reviews at best. When I first got this movie I had no idea who David Boreanaz or Katherine Heigl were... as I got into their TV Shows late. While this is not the best slasher movie I ever seen... I did enjoy it. Unfortunately Katherine Heigl really didn't last all that long in the movie. Was hardly worth having her in it.  Other then the fact that of course she looked absolutely gorgeous. This is one I will have to keep in mind... maybe make it an annual viewing for Valentine's Day. Would probably make a good companion piece to watch with My Bloody Valentine.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Plot:
A Different World appeared on NBC from 1987 to 1993. As the highly anticipated spin-off of America's #1 show, A Different World mostly aired directly after The Cosby Show. The series was set at Hillman, a historically Black college with a rich legacy and reputation for successfully cultivating young minds. Denise Huxtable (Lisa Bonet) decided to attend Hillman College in tribute to her parents and grandfather who all attended Hillman for their undergraduate studies. In Season One, A Different World clearly depicts the difference between living at home with your parents and taking responsibilty for your own actions as a young adult. This hilarious show is filled with vibrant characters. In addition to Denise, Hillman featured Jaleesa Vinson (Dawnn Lewis), a recently divorced 26 year old, Maggie Lauten (Marisa Tomei), the most talkative person on campus, Whitley Gilbert (Jasmine Guy), the ultra-wealthy Southern Belle, Dwayne Wayne (Kadeem Hardison), Hillman's smartest and funniest male student and Walter Oakes (Sinbad) the over protective dorm director.

A Different World
1.01 Reconcilable Differences

I really enjoyed this Cosby Show spinoff, when it originally aired on German TV. After the first season, there are a lot of changes. Denise and Maggie (Marisa Tomei) left the show and the show took a different direction. At first I was disappointed but then I really grew to like the series. I really hope they release the rest someday on DVD. I would really love to watch it again.

A Different World
1.02 Pilot Presentation

I decided to also watch the second episode, because it was originally supposed to be the pilot. But they decided to produce another episode coming before this one, which better introduces the characters.
Another reason I wanted to watch it is, that this episode introduces Marisa Tomei's character. This is the first role I got to know Marisa Tomei. She did a great job in this series. To bad that she is only in the first season.
