Dr. Terror's House of Horrors, a review by Danae Cassandra

Dr. Terror's House of Horrors
Year of Release: 1964
Directed By: Freddy Francis
Starring: Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Donald Sutherland, Neil McCallum, Alan Freeman, Roy Castle
Genre: Horror

Overview:The Doctor and The Devils, Dracula Has Risen From The Grave, Tales From The Crypt) and starring horror film royalty Peter Cushing (Horror of Dracula, Evil of Frankenstein) and Christopher Lee (Horror of Dracula, Lord of the Rings), M.A.S.H.1900The Devils and The Boyfriend) and Michael Gough (Horror of DraculaBatman and Sleepy Hollow).

My Thoughts:
This is a solid Amicus anthology horror. It features good production design, decent (if not spectacular) stories, and a fine cast. If Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee are the memorable standouts, none of the others does a bad job. The last story features a young Donald Sutherland as the only other name I recognized. The last two stories are the best ones, but the others aren't terrible. I'd recommend this if you like anthology horror films of this vintage - Tales of Terror for example, or you're a fan of Cushing or Lee. They both give a great performance here.

My Thoughts:

There have been some bad entries in the Lampoon series but this has got to be the worst. I'm all for lots of boobies but to think a movie will be funny and liked by flashing a pair of tits every 3 minutes is beyond stupid. You expect at least a laugh or two from a Lampoon flick but there wasn't anything even remotely funny about this.

This played more like a vehicle strictly to promote Paris Hilton who is truly detestable and as far as I am concerned completely unattractive.   :voodoo:

Should've been called Skip This!

House M.D.: Season Six (2009/United States)

Stars:
Hugh Laurie as Dr. Gregory House
Lisa Edelstein as Dr. Lisa Cuddy
Omar Epps as Dr. Eric Foreman
Robert Sean Leonard as Dr. James Wilson
Jesse Spencer as Dr. Robert Chase

Extras:
  • Audio Commentary
  • Featurettes

My Thoughts:
I just finished watching this set. It felt good to watch some episodes I never seen before... and I enjoyed every minute of it. I watched the entire season in only 3 days. And now I sit here wishing I had season 7 to watch! I think I would have to say my favorite episode of the season would have to be between Private Lives which guest starred Laura Preppon from That '70s Show and Black Hole. Though the season finale was fantastic as well.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5
