Blood Bound: Meat Market Cut, a review by addicted2dvd

Title: Blood Bound: Meat Market Cut
Year: 2006
Director: Mason Booker
Rating: NR
Length: 85 Min.
Video: Widescreen 1.33:1
Audio: English: Dolby Digital Stereo
Subtitles: N/A

Stars:
Alex Szele
John Hermann
Jeff Robinson
Kerry Birmingham
Paul Crowley

Plot:
Ten years ago, Alex's life as a respected police officer was turned upside down when he discovered vampires were real - and hungry.

Extras:
Scene Access

My Thoughts:
I thought that next I would try another vampire movie from the same set. And hope that I am happier with it then I was the last one. And from the first scene I knew I would be. The story, while it still has it's problems is better. The acting was a bit better as well. And thankfully there was no hissing in the sound this time. Though the picture was overly dark in most the scenes. which was a bit on the distracting side. And it did seem a bit weird that the movie went back and forth between color and B&W (mostly in the beginning of the movie). But over all... a decent story that was enjoyable.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Visit to a Small Planet, a review by GSyren

TitleVisit to a Small Planet (4-041658-500128)
DirectorNorman Taurog
ActorsJerry Lewis, Joan Blackman, Earl Holliman, Fred Clark, John Williams
Produced1960 in United States
Runtime85 minutes
AudioGerman Dolby Digital Mono, English Dolby Digital Mono
SubtitlesGerman
OverviewJerry Lewis is Kreton, a childish alien who, against his teacher's will leaves his planet to visit the Earth, and lands in the backyard of a famous television journalist who doesn't believe in U.F.O's and aliens. Wanting to study humans but not able to fully understand them, Kreton makes a mess out of it, generating a lot of comic situations.
My thoughtsI like Jerry Lewis, but sometimes he gets a bit too much. And that pretty much sums up this movie. It has some nice gags and several very good actors. For much of the movie Jerry is quite funny, but in a few sequences he is just too... Jerry.

For those of you that have Amazon Prime, this apparently is a free download. If you want it on DVD, you may have to make do with a German or Spanish release. I watched the German DVD, and it's fine. It has German and original English mono audio.

Pete's Pilots, a review by addicted2dvd

Incident On and Off a Mountain Road
"You've always got to expect the unexpected...and do the unexpected." It's the chilling advice a young woman ('Bree Turner') thinks about late one night on a lonely stretch of mountain road. The warning, from her survivalist ex-husband, becomes all too real when a car accident leaves her alone, hurt and hunted by a backwoods maniac called "Moonface" ('John De Santis'). She's learned how to live. She's been trained how to kill. But when trapped in a monster's killing ground, will she know how to survive the most horrific confrontation of them all?

'Ethan Embry' and 'Angus "The Tall Man" Scrimm' co-star in this grisly shocker directed by 'Dan Coscarelli' and adapted from the short story by 'Joe R. Lansdale' (BUBBA HO-TEP) that 'The New York Daily News' hails as "tantalizingly creepy and scary good!"

My Thoughts:
This was a very strong start to the series. A very good story similar to ones like Texas Chainsaw Massacre.... what with the backwoods maniac.  I really liked the twist ending to this episode. DVD quality is great... and is completely loaded with extras. Masters of Horror is well known for all the gore that is in some of the episodes... and even though there is some decent gore... it really was pretty light for this first episode.

My Rating:
