Blood Bound: Meat Market Cut, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Blood Bound: Meat Market Cut Year: 2006 Director: Mason Booker Rating: NR Length: 85 Min. Video: Widescreen 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital Stereo Subtitles: N/A Stars: Alex Szele John Hermann Jeff Robinson Kerry Birmingham Paul Crowley Plot: Ten years ago, Alex's life as a respected police officer was turned upside down when he discovered vampires were real - and hungry. Extras: Scene Access My Thoughts: I thought that next I would try another vampire movie from the same set. And hope that I am happier with it then I was the last one. And from the first scene I knew I would be. The story, while it still has it's problems is better. The acting was a bit better as well. And thankfully there was no hissing in the sound this time. Though the picture was overly dark in most the scenes. which was a bit on the distracting side. And it did seem a bit weird that the movie went back and forth between color and B&W (mostly in the beginning of the movie). But over all... a decent story that was enjoyable. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: Unwatched DVDs on November 13th, 2009) Visit to a Small Planet, a review by GSyren
(From Reviews and ramblings by Gunnar on May 30th, 2014) Pete's Pilots, a review by addicted2dvdIncident On and Off a Mountain Road "You've always got to expect the unexpected...and do the unexpected." It's the chilling advice a young woman ('Bree Turner') thinks about late one night on a lonely stretch of mountain road. The warning, from her survivalist ex-husband, becomes all too real when a car accident leaves her alone, hurt and hunted by a backwoods maniac called "Moonface" ('John De Santis'). She's learned how to live. She's been trained how to kill. But when trapped in a monster's killing ground, will she know how to survive the most horrific confrontation of them all? 'Ethan Embry' and 'Angus "The Tall Man" Scrimm' co-star in this grisly shocker directed by 'Dan Coscarelli' and adapted from the short story by 'Joe R. Lansdale' (BUBBA HO-TEP) that 'The New York Daily News' hails as "tantalizingly creepy and scary good!" My Thoughts: This was a very strong start to the series. A very good story similar to ones like Texas Chainsaw Massacre.... what with the backwoods maniac. I really liked the twist ending to this episode. DVD quality is great... and is completely loaded with extras. Masters of Horror is well known for all the gore that is in some of the episodes... and even though there is some decent gore... it really was pretty light for this first episode. My Rating: Note: This Review was taken from my Masters of Horror Marathon Thread. (From Pete's Pilots on March 25th, 2010) |
