After twenty years in limbo, Pumpkinhead has finally returned to settle the score.

My Thoughts:
This is my first time ever seeing this movie... even though I have seen all the other ones in the series. I enjoyed all the others so I went into this one expecting the same. And I did enjoy it. I liked how they brought back the character of Ed Harley. I also liked the recap of the first movie that they worked into this one. I normally don't care much for flashback scenes... but it was somehow different in this case. I think if you liked the other Pumpkinhead movies you will enjoy this one as well.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, a review by dfmorgan

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within

Year: 2001
Director: Hironobu Sakaguchi
Cast: Ming-Na, Alec Baldwin, Ving Rhames
Overview: The year is 2065. A meteor has crashed into Earth unleashing millions of alien creatures who roam the earth, decimating field and city alike, threatening to extinguish life itself. Prepare to be spellbound by an amazing woman, the brave individuals at her side and an astouning mission to save the Earth - all in cutting-edge CGI!

Watched: 4th. Sep 2010
My Thoughts: Upon release this film set the benchmark for CGI animation and when I watched the DVD in late 2001 I was blown away. Now rewatching on Blu-ray Disc I find that it is still an enjoyable film with the Blu generally adding to the picture but some bits seem flat. The hair flicking around and other such effects still stood the test but the facial expressions and much of the background seemed to me to be flat in comparison. The dream sequences though appeared a tad sharper especially with the shot from beneath Dr. Aki standing in the puddle.

My Rating: An enjoyable 3

Title: Fat Friends: Series One

Certificate:15
Year:2000

Plot:Series 1 of ITV1's BAFTA nominated comedy drama Fat Friends has finally arrived on DVD.

Meet Betty, Kelly, Lauren, Alan, Val, Jamie, Aysha and Joan. They are all shapes and sizes and come from all walks of life but there's something which unites them all - a constant struggle with their weight. Every week, the group meets up at 'Superslimmers' for the all-important weigh-in. Will it be euphoria at the loss of a couple of pounds - or desperation when the scales reveal that elusive target weight is slipping further away?

Written by Kay Mellor (Girls' Night, Playing the Field, Band of Gold) and starring Alison Steadman (Abigail's Party, Shirley Valentine), Gaynor Faye (Coronation Street), Josie Lawrence (Whose Line Is It Anyway?) and Janet Dibley (Eastenders).

1 Love Me Slender

My Review:
Family friendly comedy, focussing on the current fascination of dieting and fat clubs, with the obvious jokes associated with such.
Some good laugh out loud moments, but generally not enough to inspire immediate further viewing of the series nor anything but an average rating.
Interesting to see Ruth Jones and James Corden (writers and stars of Gavin & Stacey) in early roles. plus Alison Steadman who plays Gavins mum.
