Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment, a review by DragonfireMy Thoughts The movie is funny and entertaining overall, though it isn't a movie for everyone. It is probably too silly for some viewers. Zed is highly annoying and I don't really like all the attention he gets. The plot is goofy, which fits in with what happened in the first movie. People that liked the first one may find something to enjoy with this one. People that didn't like the first movie should probably avoid this one. The characters are mostly interesting and entertaining. Mauser seems to just be a replacement for Harris from the first movie. In some ways he's even more of a jerk than Harris was. Overall the movie is entertaining, though I've seen better. I did get a review posted on Epinions. Stars: Bob Hope as Sorrowful Jones Lucille Ball as Gladys O'Neil William Demarest as Regret Bruce Cabot as Big Steve Holloway Thomas Gomez as Reardon Plot: Sorrowful Jones (Bob Hope) takes a bet from a rotten gambler who leaves his young daughter as collateral, forcing him to learn some hard lessons about parenthood with the help of a nightclub singer (Lucille Ball). Extras:
My Thoughts: This one I enjoyed quite a bit. Not surprising with such stars as Bob Hope and Lucille Ball. But it was the little girl that I felt stole the show. A cute little girl and I loved her attitude. This is actually the first film I have seen Lucille Ball in. I just know her from "I Love Lucy"... and while I figured it was the case I was happy to verify with this film that Lucille Ball really could sing. This film may not have a lot of laugh out loud moments... but if you are looking for a fun film to relax and watch I would definitely recommend "Sorrowful Jones." Plot: After her mother's death, Rino has no one to turn to, but with the help of a mysterious pen pal she never met, she transfers to the very selective Miyagami Private Academy. Along with her hand-puppet Pucchan, who seems to have a mind of his own, Rino arrives on the steps of this prestigious institution to discover a gifted group of individuals who are willing to serve and protect the school and the students at all costs: the "maximum authority-wielding" Best Student Council. Part student council, part special covert operations society and totally staffed by the best, the brightest and the wackiest the academy has to offer, the Best Student Council stands ready to tackle any challenge no matter how large or how small. But no one but the secretive president of the council seems to realize just how much of a change Rino's (and Pucchan's) arrival heralds for Miyagami. Don't miss this charming comedy about life, love and friendship at Miyagami with the Best Student Council! Best School Council 1.01 Dear Mr. Poppit This first episode, although strange, looks like this series could be fun. But I still haven't managed to watch past the first disc of this series as of now.
