Pulse, a review by addicted2dvd

Title: Pulse (1988)
Movie Count: 15
TV Ep Count: 3
Other Count: 0
Time Started: 7:50am
Plot:
In today's world of modern conveniences, everything we rely on is run by electricity. But what happens if the power we take for granted turns against us? Old man Holger (Charles Tyner) knows. He claims electricity is a living presence, whose voice can only be silenced by getting rid of anything that can hear it. Bill Rockland (Cliff De Young), however, refuses to believe him. It must have been an accident when an electric spark ruptured the gas pipe that nearly killed Bill's son (Joey Lawrence). And it's surely a coincidence when Bill's wife (Roxanne Hart) is severely scalded by their electric water heater. But when his own power tools attack him and an electrical fire turns their home into a blazing inferno, Bill realizes Holger may have been right after all, and perhaps the time has come to finally pull the plug.

My Thoughts:
This is another one I never seen before... but it was cheap and sounded interesting so I decided to take a chance on it. Unfortunately this one is not all that impressive. I mean it has it's moments...but they are few and far between. The movie is slow and I just couldn't get myself to care about the characters. Then there is the fact that the acting itself leaves some to be desired at times. The dvd itself is ok at best as well. The audio and video is fine though some grain in the video... as for extras all you get is a selection of trailers. This is not a DVD I see myself watching much... if I decide to watch it again.

Nosferatu, a review by addicted2comics

Title: Nosferatu: The First Vampire: Arrow Special Collector's Series
Year: 1998
Director: F. W. Murnau [F.W. Murnau]
Rating: NR
Length: 67 Min.
Video: Full Frame 1.33:1
Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo
Subtitles:

Stars:
Max Schreck
Alexander Granach
Gustav von Wagenheim
G. H. Schell
Ruth Landshoff
John Gottowt

Plot:
F.W. Murnau's Nosferatu is an unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula. It recounts the eternal battle between good and evil, love and hate, innocence and death. A young man must combat the devil incarnate in the form of the sinister Count Orlock, better known as Nosferatu - The Undead, in order to save his soul and the woman he loves.

Nosferatu represents one of the first treatments of the Vampire on film and remains a classic in cinematic history. This updated version will both thrill and horrify new generations for years to come with an original soundtrack by Type O Negative. Murnau's Nosferatu can truly be called The First Vampire.

Extras:
Feature Trailers
Music Videos

My Thoughts:

Yes, I'm watching horror when my father can't! :P I had to do it!!

I've seen Nosferatu before. The movie was good, you're basic (and first, after the Dracula book) vampire story. Since it was shot silenmtly, I always had to rush when it came to reading, or paused it time after time, which got a little annoying. The background music was awesome in my opinion. (Keep on rockin', Type O Negative!!! ) The black and white and no sound didn't bother me, except for one thing - - - it seemed so peaceful with that nice horror-like music that I near fell asleep while it was going, and, keep in mind that opening intro included, the movie moved to end credits about an hour in.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Angel Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

Angel: Season 1

17. Eternity
Original Air Date: 4/4/2000
A young actress seeking protection from a stalker takes a sudden personal interest in Angel after she discovers he's a vampire.

Guest Stars:
Tamara Gorski
Michael Mantell
Robin Meyers

My Thoughts:
A good episode... though it does start out a little slow. And the whole star wanting to be a vampire to stay looking young is a  story that was told before... more then once. But entertaining all the same. And it really picked up when Angel gets drugged... awakening Angelus. That is the part that saved this episode for me.
