From Dusk Till Dawn, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: From Dusk Till Dawn Movie Count: 65 TV Ep Count: 32 Other Count: 2 Time Started: 7:45am Plot: It's nonstop thrills when George Clooney ('The Perfect Storm', 'Three Kings') and Quentin Tarantino ('Pulp Fiction') star as the Gecko brothers - two dangerous outlaws on a wild crime spree! After kidnapping a father (Harvey Keitel - 'U-571') and his two kids (including Juliette Lewis - 'Natural Born Killers'), the Geckos head south to a seedy Mexican bar to hide out in safety. But when they face the bar's truly notorious clientele, they're forced to team up with their hostages in order to make it out alive! My Thoughts: One of my favorites. I really like how the movie starts out more of an action-thriller then the horror movie it actually is. This is the first time I ever seen such an idea being used. I felt the cast was great... story was fun.. and another of the best bar fight scenes I have seen in a horror movie (between this one and Near Dark). I also enjoyed all 3 roles that Cheech Marin took on. Especially the role at the bar. My Rating Out of a Possible 5 (From My Month Long Horror/Halloween Marathon: 2008 on October 19th, 2008) Kick-Ass, a review by Tom
Stars: Aaron Johnson as Dave Lizewski/Kick-Ass Garrett M. Brown as Mr. Lizewski Clark Duke as Marty Evan Peters as Todd Deborah Twiss as Mrs Zane Plot: When Dave Lizewski, an ordinary teenager, sets about trying to become the no-power vigilante Kick-Ass, he soon discovers he's not alone. But he's out of his depth - a fearless and highly trained father-daughter crime-fighting duo, Big Daddy and Hit Girl, have declared war on New-York mafioso, Frank D'Amico. As Kick-Ass and his new found friend, Red Mist, get drawn into their no-holds-barred world of bullets and blood, the stage is set for a final showdown - in which the DIY hero will have to live up to his name...or die trying. My Thoughts: I still haven't written a review about this fabulous movie. I loved it, of course. I watched it three times at the cinema. The most I have ever watched a movie in the theater. I even got other excited about this movie after I "dragged" them into the cinema. They didn't know anything about this movie beforehand. I was vary if they will enjoy it, but after watching it they often have asked me, when the DVD is finally going to be released.Hitgirl is of course the highlight of this movie. Also Nicholas Cage did a great job as Big Daddy. I enjoy this movie from beginning to end and I still am not tired of watching it. This movie is a great example of a comic book adaption. They took what fits in a movie, and changed some stuff which wouldn't work on-screen as well as on page. Rating: (From Tom's Random Reviews on September 24th, 2010) Angel Marathon, a review by addicted2dvdAngel: Season 1 15. The Prodigal Original Air Date: 2/22/2000 An attack by a normally peaceful demon on a subway train leads Angel to a disturbing connection between Kate Lockley's father and an illegal drug warehouse. Guest Stars: Elisabeth Rohm Julie Benz John Mahon J. Kenneth Campbell My Thoughts: And here we have another episode with flashbacks to the past. This time from when Angel was first changed into a vampire. So We get some scenes with Julie Benz as Darla. And it is another one I enjoyed every second of.
