OverviewThis blockbuster animated comedy from Illumination Entertainment sees the return of former super-villain Gru (Steve Carell), who has retired from a life of crime to raise his three daughters. But things take an unexpected turn when he is recruited by the Anti-Villain League to track down an elusive criminal who is threatening the world. Now, with new partner Lucy Wilde (Kristen Wiig) by his side, Gru and the Minions set off on an unpredictable and unexpected adventure.
My thoughtsLooking at the comments on IMDb, this seems to be pretty much a love-it-or-hate-it movie. Many people who loved DM1 were terribly disappointed by the sequel. I was not.

I guess it's true that the story kind of meanders a lot. And it focuses on the minions a lot  more than the first one did. It's a matter of taste if this is a good thing or a bad thing. It does have its faults, but I was still hugely entertained. I'm guessing that the reactions to this film depend a great deal on what you are expecting. Gru isn't despicable, so if the title leads you to expect more despicability then I guess you may be disappointed. The villain is kind of weak, so not all that much despicability there either.

There is a love story involved, well two actually, so if that isn't your cup of tea, then I guess that may put you off. It's cute, and there are a lot of sight gags, but the plot is just so-so.

Still, I had a good time watching it. Not quite as much as with DM1, perhaps, but still a very positive experience.
My rating4 out of 5

Alvin and the Chipmunks meet the Wolfman, a review by addicted2comics

Alvin and the Chipmunks meet the Wolfman

The Plot:

Alvin is struggling with nightmares of werewolves. Alvin believes that the new next-door neighbor Mr. Talbot is a werewolf. Of course, no one believes him. Meanwhile, the boys are working on the school production of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. When Alvin blows up the school auditorium, he is expelled from the production. Theodore is put in to rise his lack of confidence. Alvin and Simon are trying to discover the secret of Mr. Talbot. Will the play go as planned or will the Chipmunks mess it up?! And is Mr. Talbot a werewolf?

My Thoughts:

Wow, this brings back memories. I watched this every Halloween on Cartoon Network (before the channel went lame) and recorded iot on VHS, a tape I no longer had till dad picked up the double-feature DVD for me! ;D I just have to say, dear old dad didn't like it as much, what with the mjusic, but, c'mon!! The music was rockin!!!  :egyptian:

Still, I wish they focused more on Lawrence Talbot, and not Theodore, but it still a fun family, comedic horror cartoon!! ;D

My Rating:
Out of 5

My Pilot/Finale Episode Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

My Pilot/Finale Episode Marathon
For about the next week I decided to do a Pilot & Finale episode marathon on some of the TV Series that I have every episode of. This will not be in any particular order... just whatever shows the mood hits me for.

Adventures of Superman

Pilot::
Superman on Earth
Recounts Superman's flight from doomed Krypton, being raised by the Kents, his arrival in Metropolis, and getting hired as reporter Clark Kent at the Daily Planet when scooping Lois on Superman's debut.

My Thoughts:
The first episode of this series decided to start at the very beginning... the destruction of Krypton and Arrival of Superman on Earth. Was definitely a good episode. There was however 1 very big noticeable difference from any other Superman show or movie I ever saw before... for some reason the Kents name is Eban and Sarah Kent instead of the normal Johnathan and Martha. Which is something I found strange but didn't take away from the enjoyment of the show any.

Fanale::
All That Glitters
What if? After a whack to the head, Jimmy dreams he and Lois has the same powers as the Man of Steel.

My Thoughts:
This was basically no more then a fun episode. I definitely enjoyed seeing Jimmy and Lois with Superman's powers. It kinda gave me a chuckle. The finale of this series was no different then any other episode... leading me to believe that when it aired they most likely didn't realize the 6th season would be the series last. though who knows for sure... what with the age of this series... they could have done things differently back then.
