Jurassic World, a review by GSyren

Jurassic World (5-053083-044992)
United States 2015 | Released 2015-10-19 on Bluray from Universal Studios Home Entertainment
124 minutes | Aspect ratio 2.00:1 | Audio: English DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1, Spanish DTS 5.1, French DTS 5.1, German DTS 5.1, Hindi DTS 5.1, Italian DTS 5.1, Audio Descriptive Dolby Digital 2-Channel Stereo, Audio Descriptive Dolby Digital 2-Channel Stereo
Directed by Colin Trevorrow and starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Irrfan Khan, Vincent D'Onofrio, Ty Simpkins

Directed by Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) and executive produced by Academy Award winner Steven Spielberg, one of the biggest movie franchises of all time gets even bigger with Jurassic World. 22 years ago, John Hammond envisioned a theme park where guests could experience the thrill of witnessing actual dinosaurs. Today, Jurassic World welcomes tens of thousands of visitors, but something sinister lurks behind the park's attractions: a genetically modified dionsaur with savage capabilities. When chaos erupts across the island, Owen (Chris Pratt, Guardians of the Galaxy) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard, The Help) race to restore order as a day in the park becomes a struggle for survival.

My thoughts about Jurassic World:
Same, same but ... not all that different. Jurassic World is too much like Jurassic Park, but not as exciting. There are very few surprises, it's all so predictable. The mix of practical effects and CGI works well enough, but no better than it did 22 years ago in the original.

In 1993, Jurassic Park was a game changer as far as CGI creatures were concerned. In 2015 Jurassic World looks pretty much like a SyFy movie, although with much more money thrown in. OK as undemanding entertainment, but nothing to get really excited about.
I rate this title

The Tooth Fairy, a review by addicted2dvd

The Tooth Fairy
Northern California, 1949: In the woods outside of a small town, a hideous witch lured children to her crumbling home where she stole their teeth, butchered their bodies, and cursed their souls to wander the earth forever. Decades later the house has been converted into a quaint country inn, but an untold evil remains: The witch's slumber has been disturbed, and her vengeful spirit seeks the violent slaughter of all who stay there. And for one eleven-year-old girl with a loose molar and an active imagination, the ultimate horror begins with a visit from THE TOOTH FAIRY.

My Thoughts:
This is a pretty good horror movie. Not the best I ever seen... but far from the worst. Definitely one I consider worth checking out. I wouldn't spend top dollar for it... but if you can get it for say... under $10 I don't think you will be disappointed.

My Thoughts:
I didn't enjoy this season as much as the first one. If I would have watched it when it originally aired, I probably would have given up on the show.
In my season 1 review I said, that I was hoping it to be Logan who was at the door. Now it turned out that he was, but I didn't like the way they handled it. Through flashbacks we learn, that Veronica and Logan were a couple throughout the summer but broke up when he became an asshole again. I didn't like this. Season 1 was about him first being a little bit nasty, but growing closer to Veronica throughout the season and at the end of the season him being a likable character.
But then they start out this season with him being a bigger asshole than ever before. It just ruins the character development of the first season.
I am glad to see more of Mac, my favorite supporting character. But sadly they didn't pick up the storyline of her family life from season 1.
This season's mystery was mostly uninteresting to me, but it was nicely wrapped up at the end.
