Edge Of Darkness, a review by KinkyCyborgEdge Of Darkness Title:Edge of Darkness Year: 2010 Director: Martin Campbell Rating: R Length: 117 Min. Video: Widescreen :1 Audio: Subtitles: Stars: Mel Gibson Ray Winstone Danny Huston Bojana Novakovic Shawn Roberts Plot:Extras: My Thoughts: Thought I would check out Edge Of Darkness which is Mel Gibson's latest and it has been a long time coming. Mel is violent, profane, abusive, says exactly what's on his mind.... all that and the movie hasn't even started! Jokes aside, in spite of all his troubles in the tabloids, Mel can still act and very much commands presence on screen. He is starting to show the wear and tear of life with stark, craggy features that suited him perfectly for this role as a grieving father who is investigating the murder of his daughter in a nothing to lose fashion. This was riveting and despite how long Gibson had been out of the game he can still cut the mustard in action/thriller roles. Several WOW moments and constant thrills that hurtle you towards a traumatic ending make this a great watch. Ray Winstone was also great as the dapper 'fixer' whose own ironic dilemma makes his end move so poetic. Gibson's still got it. I'd love to see more movies out of him. Even more so I'd like to see some more directorial efforts from him. C'mon Mel... get your shit together... Video: Widescreen :1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround Subtitles: Stars: Erin Marie Hogan Fia Perera Shane Van Dyke Plot: Twenty-three-year old Thomas Finley was arrested for the murders of his nineteen-year-old sister, Samantha, and fifty-two-year-old Edgar Lauren, professor and paranormal investigator. Police were called to the scene by Thomas Finley himself. He was found with his sister's body cradled in his arms. Despite evidence against him, Thomas claimed that the victims were attacked by a demonic entity of unknown origin. Days later, he committed suicide. At the request of those close to the Finley family, this video, found at the scene, is being released to the public for the first time as a testament to what really happened inside the Finley home. Decide the truth for yourself. Extras: Scene Access Digital Copy My Thoughts: My brother gave me this DVD a couple weeks back. This is one of those movies that try to make it seem "real" by trying to play it off as real types found from someone's camcorder. Much like Blair Witch Project or St. Francisville Experiment. This one obviously a rip off of Paranormal Activity... so I went into it not expecting a whole lot. I must say though... I really enjoyed this one quite a bit. But I found where many people do not... I like this style of movie. The whole illusion of making you think you are watching some real lost tapes of unexplainable happenings... I just find it fun for some reason. I don't really feel right about comparing this one to Paranormal Activity... only because it has been a while since I watched it so I don't think I could do it fairly. As it has been almost a year since I watched it. But I do like where this one went... the urn of their father's ashes... the sister in the attic... footprints on the ceiling,, they had some decent ideas for the atmosphere of the movie. It is worth checking out if you like this style of movie. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: Unwatched DVDs on January 28th, 2011) Tom's TV Finales marathon, a review by Tom

Throughout the 24 episodes we saw the girls going through their three years of Japanese high school. And in this episode they are graduating and it is fairly emotional. This episode suggests that the friendships they have built throughout this series will last even after everyone will go their separate ways. And I really liked how true to the manga they stayed with this series, even though the manga was a four-panel comic strip and you wouldn't think it would be fitting for such a series.
