Take Me Home Tonight, a review by Tom
Stars: Topher Grace as Matt Franklin Anna Faris as Wendy Franklin Dan Fogler as Barry Nathan Teresa Palmer as Tori Frederking Chris Pratt as Kyle Masterson Plot: Four years after graduation, an awkward high school genius uses his sister's boyfriend's Labor Day party as the perfect opportunity to make his move on his high school crush. Extras:
My Thoughts: Not actually any surprises in the movie, but I enjoyed it. It came to my attention because of Anna Faris. She does a good job as usual, but of the four on the cover, her role is the smallest. Or at least it seemed like it. I also wanted to check out this movie, because of Teresa Palmer, who I only knew from "I am Number Four" beforehand.Rating: (From Tom's Random Reviews on March 2nd, 2013) Vera Cruz, a review by AntaresVera Cruz (1954) 57/100 - I usually love a film directed by Robert Aldrich, but this was a slog from the get go. Cooper seems to be uninterested, Lancaster is so over the top, it gives credence to Frank Gorshin's pitch perfect impersonation of him. Smiling isn't acting Burt! Lots of soon to be big names in supporting roles, but they are mostly played for comedy relief or bullet fodder. Denise Darcel is horrible, leaving Sara Montiel as the only bright performance in this mess of a film. If you're a Gary Cooper or Burt Lancaster completest, then you might like it, but I'd skip it. Teal = Masterpiece Dark Green = Classic or someday will be Lime Green = A good, entertaining film Orange = Average Red = Cinemuck Brown = The color of crap, which this film is (From Antares' Short Summations on July 11th, 2020) Tom's TV Pilots marathon, a review by Tom
Plot: FROM THE CREATIVE GENIUS OF IRWIN ALLEN ("Lost in Space," "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea," The Poseidon Adventure and The Towering Inferno) COMES ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR AND ORIGINAL SCI-FI SHOWS OF THE 1960s! "THE CONTROL OF TIME IS POTENTIALLY THE MOST VALUABLE TREASURE THAT MAN WILL EVER FIND."The Time Tunnel Season 1.01 Rendezvous with Yesterday 09.09.1966 Writer: Irwin Allen (Created By), Harold Jack Bloom (Screenwriter), Shimon Wincelberg (Screenwriter), Irwin Allen (Story By), Shimon Wincelberg (Story By), Harold Jack Bloom (Story By) Director: Irwin Allen Cast: James Darren (Tony Newman), Robert Colbert (Doug Phillips), Michael Rennie (Capt. Malcolm Smith), Susan Hampshire (Althea Hall), Gary Merrill (Senator Leroy Clark), Lee Meriwether (Dr. Ann MacGregor), Wesley Lau (Master Sgt. Jiggs), John Zaremba (Dr. Raymond Swain), Whit Bissell (General Heywood Kirk), Don Knight (Grainger), Jean-Michel Michenaud (Marcel), John Winston (The Guard), Brett Parker (Countdown Technician) A good introduction to a good series (at least the first half of this series I enjoyed). Compared to later episode, the complex containing the time tunnel is much much bigger here. The sheer size of it is mind-boggling here, but later it seems the project only employs a few people in a much smaller environment. Rating: (From Tom's TV Pilots marathon on November 11th, 2012) |
