My Thoughts:

I enjoyed this story, though the effects were a bit all over the place. Of course, it is for the younger teens... so there is that. It has good atmosphere, and the cast did a good job. I would say it is worth the time put in to watch it. I can see this becoming a regular in my Halloween marathon viewing.

Gamera vs. Jiger, a review by Danae Cassandra

Gamera vs. Jiger
Year of Release: 1970
Directed By: Noriaki Yuasa
Starring: Tsutomu Takakuwa, Kelly Varis, Katherine Murphy, Sanshiro Honoo
Genre: Science-Fiction, Disaster, Tokusatsu, Kaiju

Overview:
The fire-breathing action continues as Gamera battle one of his greatest foe, Jiger, a horned monster reminiscent of the Triceratops. Drawn to the World Expo in Osaka by an ancient statue, the evil reptile injects Gamera with its parasitic offspring to eliminate the super turtle.

My Thoughts:
When the native people tell you the statue is cursed, listen to them! Destruction awaits those who do not! Can Gamera stop the rampage of Jiger, or is Tokyo's Expo 70 doomed?

One of the better of the Showa era Gamera films in terms of Gamera's foe. Jiger is an interesting and powerful foe with a trick we haven't seen for. There's plenty of action and kaiju combat, even if some of it gets ridiculous. On the other hand, the kids are pretty annoying and the trip inside Gamera is totally over the top. Overall more positive than negative though.

Bechdel Test: Fail

Overall: 2/75/5

Tom's Random Star Trek Reviews, a review by Tom

TNG 3.15 Yesterday's Enterprise
Writer: Ira Steven Behr (Screenwriter), Richard Manning (Screenwriter), Hans Beimler (Screenwriter), Ronald D. Moore (Screenwriter), Trent Christopher Ganino (Original Material By), Eric A. Stillwell (Original Material By)
Director: David Carson
Cast: Patrick Stewart (Capt. Jean-Luc Picard), Jonathan Frakes (Cmdr. William Riker), LeVar Burton (Lt. Cmdr. Geordi La Forge), Michael Dorn (Lieutenant Worf), Gates McFadden (Dr. Beverly Crusher), Marina Sirtis (Counselor Deanna Troi), Brent Spiner (Lt. Commander Data), Wil Wheaton (Wesley Crusher), Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar), Christopher McDonald (Richard Castillo), Tricia O'Neil (Rachel Garrett), Whoopi Goldberg (Guinan)

I always have loved this episode. This is the only instance we get to see the Enterprise-C. It is thrown 22 years from the past into the present time, which leads to an alternate timeline where the Federation is at war with the Klingons. This was also a great way to bring back Tasha Yar. Both Enterprise crews had to make the decision, to send the Enterprise-C back in time to a certain death because they had reason to believe, that this will prevent the war before it started.
