My Thoughts

I enjoyed this one overall.  The plot is interesting even during the slower scenes.  The attacks going on around London don't seem too bad at first, but of course all that changes later in the movie.  The husband seems a bit overbearing most of the time, and I didn't like him at all.  His wife is more likable - I can't remember their names at the moment - though she seems naive at times.  Hitchcock did a good job of building the suspense later in the movie, especially leading up to the.....shocking scene.  Another scene a bit later also builds up a good amount of suspense.  More of the techniques that Hitchcock would use in future movies turn up as well as some more interesting shots.  Some aspects of the plot could have been stronger, but the movie is still really good overall. 

My copy is part of the one set I got a few months ago.  The movie has been restored, so the picture and audio quality is wonderful.  There aren't as many extras with this one as there were with The Lodger: A Tale of the London Fog.  There are interviews and a comparison showing some footage before and after the restoration process.

From the director of "Bend It Like Beckham" and "Bride & Prejudice". I didn't enjoy this one as much as those two. Nice idea and some fun scenes but overall they could have done more out of this. I wonder if the idea of the ghosts is taken from "Stardust". They have a similar look to them.
The movie stars the Indian guy from Heroes. I never really liked him on Heroes but here he was okay. Sally Hawkins also has fun supporting roles as one of the main character's best friend who just came from a vacation in India and now thinks she is Indian.
There was also a guy who I thought sounded and looked like the guy from "Ella Enchanted" who was trapped in a book. And it was him.
The mother who is doing the killings is played by an actress who I know from a few Bollywood movies. For example was she the star in "Fire", the only lesbian Indian movie I know of.

Knight Rider (1982)
Gear up for action with Superstar David Hasselhoff and his supercar, K.I.T.T., as they throttle crime in every high-octane episode from the first season of Knight Rider, finally available to own for the first time on DVD.

The series follows the thrilling adventures of Michael Knight, a detective thought to be dead, who's been given a new face and identity. His assignment: to fight crime with the help of an artificially intelligent, talking car named K.I.T.T., a high-speed, futuristic weapon outfitted with high-tech gadgets and a personality of its own. Driven by justice, they set out to take down criminals who operate above the law in this 21-episode DVD set tricked out with loads of Special extras, including a bonus disc featuring the movie sequel, Knight Rider 2000.

Knight of the Phoenix
Michael Long, a policeman, is shot and left for dead. The shot is deflected by a plate in his head, but ruins his face. He is saved and his face reconstructed. He is reluctant, but agrees to use K.I.T.T. to help the Foundation for Law and Government fight.

My Thoughts:
Another series that I grew up watching. And one I always loved. The pilot episode does a great job of introducing the characters. And offers a few laughs. I loved the running gag in this episode of the crooks trying to steal K.I.T.T. And the demolition derby was a fun way to show off things K.I.T.T. could do.
