Pumping Iron, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Pumping Iron: The 25th Anniversary Special Edition Year: 1977 Director: George Butler, Robert Fiore Rating: PG Length: 85 Min. Video: Full Frame 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, English: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars: Arnold Schwarzenegger Lou Ferrigno Matty Ferrigno Victoria Ferrigno Mike Katz Franco Columbu Plot: In 1977, an independent documentary movie shone a light on the world of bodybuilding, becoming a huge box office hit and creating an international sensation. It launched one man's multi-millian dollar career and changed the world of bodybuilding and physical exercise forever: PUMPING IRON. Starring five-time Mr.Olympia Arnold Schwarzenegger, the movie followed the 28-year-old bodybuilder as he competed for his 6th title. Extras: Scene Access Featurettes Gallery Production Notes Interviews Outtakes/Bloopers DVD-ROM Content Closed Captioned My Thoughts: I never been much for the whole bodybuilding competition thing. But I am a fan of Arnold Schwarzenegger movies... and I never missed Lou Ferrigno in The Incredible Hulk. So it was still entertaining to see these two in this When I was asked to review this one I was told it "The film intends to be a documentary, but feels more like a preview to today's reality TV shows." And after watching it I have to agree with this statement. While I enjoyed watching this for the first time... I just don't know how much re-watch value this one has. I think the only reason I enjoyed this one at all is because it has Schwarzenegger and Ferrigno in it. If it wasn't for the fact of having 2 people I have enjoyed watching for years... I would have no interest in this subject matter what so ever. And that can only take you but so far. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From The Movies From Within My Lifetime on March 28th, 2011) Metamorphosis, a review by JimmyTitle : Metamorphosis (1990) Overview A university researcher is working to crack the human gene code in order to create a serum that would prevent aging. Pressured by the administration to publish his papers and produce some results or risk losing funding, the scientist decides to use himself as a guinea pig for the latest serum he's developed. Suffering no apparent side effects at first, the scientist eventually discovers that the serum has indeed altered him in a manner most unexpected. My Impression Not a movie that I can call original, since it really looks like The Fly but that doesn't means that this isn't a good movie. From the beginning you know that it will turn bad for the scientist and it will turn bad... The first effect is a loss of memory and a really agressive comportement (I've experiment the same thing when I was drinking too much, the memory blackout not the hyper agressivity ), after he will age really fast and at the end he will became the most stupid thing I've ever seen in a science going bad movie (click to show/hide) Not a great movie, but a very entertaining one... Time Bomb Original Air Date: 4/28/2004 Although Illyria rescues Gunn, Angel realizes she must be killed after her body begins a deadly physical breakdown which could unleash enough power to destroy the world. Guest Stars: Jaime Bergman Jeff Yagher Adam Baldwin My Thoughts: I loved how this one began... I really got a kick out of how Illyria saved Gunn from the Hell Dimension. But over-all while a decent episode... it is not one I cared too much for. My Rating: (From Angel Marathon on March 24th, 2010) |
