The Departed, a review by EricThe Departed Click the Pic for Details I'm really not a big fan of Leonardo, I actually think he's a pretty bad actor and I disliked most the movies of his that I've seen. However IMO Nicholson and Damon are just about as good as one can be so that was enough to make me watch this movie although I knew I would have to suffer through DiCaprio's scenes. This is quite an interesting movie where just everybody is a rat and/or double agent. The idea of having a police agent who infiltrated a criminal group and a criminal from that group who infiltrated the police chasing each other without knowing who's who opens up endlessly possibilities of rebounds and surprises which are very well exploited in that movie. I think however that the movie would have been just as good with a little less violence and blood. Rating: (From Eric's DVD watching. on June 27th, 2008) Blood Bound: Meat Market Cut, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Blood Bound: Meat Market Cut Year: 2006 Director: Mason Booker Rating: NR Length: 85 Min. Video: Widescreen 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital Stereo Subtitles: N/A Stars: Alex Szele John Hermann Jeff Robinson Kerry Birmingham Paul Crowley Plot: Ten years ago, Alex's life as a respected police officer was turned upside down when he discovered vampires were real - and hungry. Extras: Scene Access My Thoughts: I thought that next I would try another vampire movie from the same set. And hope that I am happier with it then I was the last one. And from the first scene I knew I would be. The story, while it still has it's problems is better. The acting was a bit better as well. And thankfully there was no hissing in the sound this time. Though the picture was overly dark in most the scenes. which was a bit on the distracting side. And it did seem a bit weird that the movie went back and forth between color and B&W (mostly in the beginning of the movie). But over all... a decent story that was enjoyable. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: Unwatched DVDs on November 13th, 2009) Tom's Random Star Trek Reviews, a review by TomDS9 1.07 Q-Less Writer: Gene Roddenberry (Original Characters By), Rick Berman (Original Characters By), Michael Piller (Original Characters By), Robert Hewitt Wolfe (Screenwriter), Hannah Louise Shearer (Original Material By) Director: Paul Lynch Cast: Avery Brooks (Commander Sisko), Rene Auberjonois (Odo), Siddig El Fadil (Doctor Bashir), Terry Farrell (Lieutenant Dax), Cirroc Lofton (Jake Sisko), Colm Meaney (Chief O'Brien), Armin Shimerman (Quark), Nana Visitor (Major Kira), Jennifer Hetrick (Vash), John de Lancie (Q), Van Epperson (Bajoran Clerk), Tom McCleister (Kolos), Laura Cameron (Bajoran Woman) This episode was obviously made to bring in viewers from TNG. Too bad that Q hardly interacts with the DS9 crew. It would have been great to have more scenes between Sisko and Q. It was a good way to introduce Q to DS9 and at the same time bring the Q/Vash story to a conclusion. Sadly there weren't any other Q episodes in DS9 after this one.
