Don't Be a Menace to South Central while Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, a review by KinkyCyborgDon't Be a Menace to South Central while Drinking Your Juice in the Hood Title:Don't Be a Menace to South Central while Drinking Your Juice in the Hood Year: 1996 Director: Paris Barclay Rating: R Length: 89 Min. Video: Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround Subtitles: English Stars: Shawn Wayans Marlon Wayans Tracey Cherelle Jones Chris Spencer Suli McCullough Plot: From the creator of TV's "In Living Color," this outrageous comedy hit had critics and audiences roaring with laughter! From block parties and beepers to high tops and high-powered weapons, it's everything that's funny about growing up in the 'hood... the Wayans Brothers' neighborhood, that is! Marlon, Shawn (both from TV's "The Wayans Brothers") and Keenen Ivory Wayans (A Low Down Dirty Shame, TV's "In Living Color") get together and deliver a series of hilarious situations that all move to a hot hit soundtrack! Get ready for a good time, because there are plenty of laughs in this neighborhood! Extras: Scene Access My Thoughts: Yes... the title is reflective of the movie... stupid, too long and fails to make any sense. A perfect example of why the Wayan brothers need to vacate Hollywood. Supposed to be a parody of black gang movies but it was just a collection of one stupid scene after another that barely resemble the movies they are supposed to spoof. What a waste of time. KC Edit : Just in keeping with the theme of stupid and outrageous I just noticed that this movie scores a 6.2 on IMDB which asks the question... what the hell is wrong with people?!? Rating: (From KinkyCyborg's Random Reviews 2011 on June 27th, 2011) Friday the 13th, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Betsy Palmer as Mrs. Voorhees Adrienne King as Alice Jeannine Taylor as Marcie Robbi Morgan as Annie Kevin Bacon (1958) as Jack Plot: A new owner and several young counselors gather to reopen Camp Crystal Lake where a young boy drowned and several vicious murders occurred years earlier. They've ignored the locals' warnings that the place has a death curse... and one by one they find out how unlucky Friday the 13th can be as they are stalked by a violent killer. Extras:
My Thoughts: This is, of course, the one that started it all. Definitely a classic when it comes to horror. I feel it is a good movie... definitely worth watching... but I have seen better. I really liked the character of Alice in this one. For some reason I keep forgetting there is a young Kevin Bacon in this movie until I watch it again. My Thoughts: I just finished watching this set. Not to bad considering I just got it this past Monday. While I still consider Grey's Anatomy to be one of my all-time favorite medical dramas... I must admit that this isn't their strongest season. While I definitely enjoyed most all the episodes... they weren't quite the caliber of episodes that I am used to from this series. Especially coming after such an excellent season that we got in season six. And why is it that all my favorite shows just must have a musical episode? While the main storyline for this episode was good... it really didn't need the musical aspect that they gave it. And at the very least... for me personally... it took away from the episode. Making me want to fast forward through half the episode. Still a really good season... but I definitely seen better. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Addicted2dvd's Random TV Series Watched on September 12th, 2012) |
