Plot:
After years of treatment at a mental institution for the criminally insane, Norman Bates ('Anthony Perkins') still can't quite elude the demands of "Mother." 'Vera Miles' also returns as the inquisitive woman who is haunted by her sister's brutal murder and the ominous motel where it all occurred.

'Meg Tilly' and 'Dennis Franz' co-star in this terrifying sequel to one of the most suspenseful films of all time.

My Thoughts:
I wasn't really expecting too much with this sequel. After all... no Hitchcock involvement with this one. But you know... I enjoyed this movie much more then I expected to. Of course it is not as good as the original... but it is definitely worth the time to watch it. Surprisingly I didn't even recognize Meg Tilly playing Mary. She of course was much younger then she was in anything else I have seen her in. She never did much for me before... but she was right cute when she was young. The only extra attached to this movie is the trailer... which I was thrilled to see after seeing so many here lately without the trailer! Anyway... as I said... much better then I was expecting. Which gives me some hope for the other sequels as well.

My Thoughts:
When I bought this movie yesterday (Wednesday) it was a complete blind buy. I never even seen the trailer to it. But it was cheap... and the back of the case sounds like a good movie. One that reminded me of the short lived TV Series Miracles... which I enjoyed quite a bit. So I bought it before doing any research on it what so ever. Absolutely no more then an impulse buy. Once I got home with it the first thing I did was watch the trailer online. This was very promising... looked like something I would enjoy... and my expectations started to grow. Then I went to read some online reviews of the movie. It seemed most all reviewers was disappointed with this movie. And with that my expectations went done somewhat.

So I finally decide to watch it and see for myself just how good or bad this movie is. For me... This is a decent movie. Maybe slightly above average. But it is not even as good as I was actually expecting from the back cover blurb and trailer. The movie has a good story which I do believe could have been better. And it has some great visual effects. The movie did look pretty amazing. I think Hilary Swank did a pretty good job in this movie... but she has definitely done better in previous movies... so is not her best work. I also think the story over-did it with the flashbacks. OK... some was necessary... like explaining what happen to Katherine's daughter years before. But why the need to show flashbacks of what we actually did see previously in the movie? Do they think we would forget what happen? I won't say I am sorry I bought this movie... as it definitely wasn't terrible... and it was cheap. But I don't think it is one I will watch often. Though who knows... I may enjoy it a bit more on a second viewing... that has happened before.

Diff'rent Strokes
"Whatchoo talkin' bout, Willis?"
When pint sized Gary Coleman uttered that phrase to his TV brother, played by Todd Bridges, audiences were hooked and a star was born. But the show's popularity was based on more then the rise of the diminutive, wisecracking Coleman. DIFF'RENT STROKES was a pop culture phenomenon that broke through cultural barriers as well.

The story of two African-American kids from Harlem who move to Park Avenue with a wealthy white widower (Conrad Bains) and his precocious teen daughter (Dana Plato) not only gave audiences lots to laugh about but gave them something to talk about. Along with their no-nonsense housekeeper (Charlotte Rae), this group was anything but average - but they reflected the changing face of the American family and brought issues of race asn class into households across the nation.

Finally available on DVD, this three-disc set collects all 24 episodes from the hilarious first season. Now you can experiance all the fun of DIFF'RENT STROKES again!

Movin' In
Wealthy widower Phillip Drummond welcomes his late housekeeper's young sons into his lavish penthouse and is surprised when he finds them trying to sneak back to Harlem.

My Thoughts:
This is a fun '70s/'80s sitcom. It is a series I would continue to collect if I could get the season sets cheap... but unfortunately they never went any further then season 2.  I like how this first season has the character of Mrs. Garrett as the housekeeper... before she left to be in the series spin-off The Facts of Life.
