Due Date, a review by DragonfireDue Date I really like Robert Downey Jr. and I was wanting to see this one ever since I saw the first trailer. I'm going to say right up front that this one isn't a movie for everyone. While it is very funny, a lot of the humor is crude or rude in some way and it has the potential of offending people. I found the movie to be really funny and entertaining even though it could have been more original. There are a lot of similarities with Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. I even seen a few with National Lampoon's Vacation. Despite that, I still think this movie is very entertaining and worth watching. There is enough different going on so it isn't like the movie is exactly like Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Peter and Ethan are extremely different, so it makes sense for there to be conflicts between them. Those conflicts lead to a lot of funny scenes. A lot of the funnier moments were in the trailers, but there are also some funny things that weren't in the trailers. The plot isn't that complex, but it still manages to be entertaining. Both the main characters have flaws, so that does make them more believable. Ethan is nice and he tries so hard to be liked, but it is understandable why Peter gets so irritated with him. I love Robert Downey Jr. and Zack Galifianakis in the parts. They have a good dynamic between them. Due Date isn't for everyone, but it is really funny and entertaining. I think it is worth watching, though I could see some people getting offended by it. I did get a longer review posted on Epinions after seeing it in the theater. Due Date (From Due Date on December 2nd, 2010) Back to the Future Part III, a review by TomTitle: Back to the Future Part III Year: 1990 Director: Robert Zemeckis Rating: FSK-12 Length: 113 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85 Audio: English: Dolby Digital 5.1, German: Dolby Digital 5.1, German: DTS 5.1 Subtitles: English, German, Hebrew Stars: Michael J. Fox Michael J. Fox Christopher Lloyd Mary Steenburgen Thomas F. Wilson Extras: Deleted Scenes Featurettes Music Videos Outtakes Photo Gallery Scene Access Storyboard Comparisons Trailers My Thoughts: Never being a big fan of Western, this movie is my least favorite of the three. But it was just the logical thing to do. We went to the future and the near past. Going to a more distant future would probably result in a bad movie. We saw how wrong they got it with the year 2015 (but interesting, that they assumed much more technological advancement as it really happened. A lot of old movies underestimated techological development when showing a similar distant future). Would would they have done with 2085? So the only good choice left is going 100 years back. And even though this movie is my least favorite of the three, I still like it very much. Stuff like how the 50s Doc got the clothes wrong for Marty to go back with. Also this movie is the best in regards of showing the friendship between the two main characters. And it is a good conclusion to the trilogy overall. Rating: (From Tom's Time-Travel Movie Reviews on May 3rd, 2009) Charmed Marathon, a review by addicted2dvdDisc 3: 8. Little Monsters The Charmed Ones believe that they can raise a half-demon infant to not be evil when they become foster parents after vanquishing the demon's parent. My Thoughts: This is a good but standard episode. Basically all I really can say about it. 9. Chris-Crossed When a witch from an elite assassin family arrives to take Chris back to the future, The Charmed Ones must pull together to save him. My Thoughts: This one is a really good episode. In this one we find out the reason Chris came from the future... what he is trying to save Wyatt from. 10. Witchstock Paige is transported back in time via a pair of Gram's magical go-go boots. Piper and Phoebe must prevent Paige from changing the past and disrupting the lineage of The Charmed Ones. My Thoughts: This is an episode that is just done for fun. Making Grams a '60s flower child. But what I think was the funniest was how they portrayed the '60s Leo. 11. Prince Charmed Piper's overprotective tendency toward her son causes her to swear off men for the rest of her life. Paige and Phoebe conjure up a Mr. Right to remind Piper of the importance of love. My Thoughts: This is a good episode... but not what I would consider a great one. In this one the sisters finally find out what it is that Chris is trying to save Wyatt from... which we (the viewers) found out a couple episodes ago. (From Charmed Marathon on July 7th, 2008) |
