Plot:
It happens to one. Then another. And another. College students discover eerie voicemail messages on their cell phones. Each call comes from the near future. Each call has the chilling voice of the student during his or her last moments alive. And each call comes true.

Terror is One Missed Call away in this got-your-number shocker based on the hit Japanese thriller Chakushin ari. Does the viral spree of calls have a single source? Is there something that links the victims? Psych student Beth Raymond (Shannyn Sossamon) and detective Jack Andrews (Ed Burns) scramble for answers. And they're working fast. Because Beth just discovered an ominous message.

My Thoughts:

The movie was pretty interesting. When I saw the commercial back when it arrived in theaters, I couldn't wait!! This, surprisingly, was my first time seeing it. My only regret about this movie is..well...I was kinda dissapointed in the deaths. I thought they'd all be murdered when they get the calls! I don't think I'll expose anything by saying most of the deaths seemed like accidents. I can't help but feel they should have been pulled away in a bloody trail, still screaming in their last seconds.........what can I say? It's what I expected. Also, the ending is keeping me wondering.


All in all, it's a good movie, I just it needs a little more help to be on the scary side. At the most, I was only slightly creeped.

Zatoichi Challenged, a review by Antares

Zatoichi Challenged (1967) 72/100 - I'm coming down the home stretch in the Daiei produced films in this series, and I'm getting a sense that they're running out of steam. From the earliest moments in this film, I knew it was being directed by Kenji Misumi, who has turned out to be my favorite director in this marathon. But he too, seems to be on auto pilot for this one, as the story, while character driven, is pretty much a re-hashing of Fight, Zatoichi, Fight from a few years earlier. Instead of Ichi caring for an infant, it's a young boy this time and while Misumi's direction and cinematography are top notch as usual, the story lacks any real punch to make it memorable. You can feel the screenwriters stretching a bit to make a slightly different plot twist for this one. When all is said and done, the ending was quite satisfying, with Ichi coming close to being killed, with his quasi-bushido integrity saving his skin.

I enjoyed this episode.

Burt the man:
I think I have to make it its own category. Burt (Kurt's father) again steals the show. The scene were he is dressing down Finn to defend his son is great.

Notable music:
In this episode they did Lady Gaga and Kiss songs.
I never saw the appeal of Lady Gaga. I never really got into her music. But since I saw some song of hers covered on Glee, I began to appreciate them more. Though I still haven't gone out to buy her music.
But I have to say, that I really love the cover of "Poker Face" in this episode. I enjoy it a lot more than the original song. It is sung here by Rachel and Shelby:


"Bad Romance" was also okay:
