Bringing Up Baby, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Katharine Hepburn as Susan Cary Grant (1904) as David Charlie Ruggles as Major Applegate Walter Catlett as Slocum Barry Fitzgerald (1888) as Mr. Gogarty Plot:Extras:
My Thoughts: I found this film to be just a treat to watch. Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn are just great in this one. As a lover of animals.... especially the large cats I really enjoyed seeing the leopard in this fiilm. This film is more then worth the time put in to watch it I would highly recommend this one if you never seen it! Veteran-turned-mercenary Thoorop (Diesel) takes the high-risk job of escorting a woman from Russia to America in a post-apocalyptic world. But it isn't long before they are pursued by warring factions who are both determined to take the girl, and it is up to Thoorop to stop them. Ignore the trailer for this film, it will give the impression this is worth spending your hard earned dosh on, it isn't. A woeful effort which is reminiscent of the superior Children of Men, the effects and action don't get going till the last half an hour, and these are so choppy it is difficult to understand what is actually happening. The acting is poor, the action pedestrian and badly filmed, direction amateur and characters unbelievable. An awful ending where it is jumped several years in advance without explanation or what happened in-between culminates this waste of viewing time. I would still rate it at a 4... but it is ever so slightly down from the previous episodes in my opinion. I guess it was just the storyline for this particular episode that I didn't care as much for. But the characters were still all good. Rating: (From "Due South" marathon on June 29th, 2009) |
