My Thoughts: This is one my brother rented from Netflix and I wanted to watch before sending it back. The original Fright Night has always been one of my favorite vampire movies. And as most of you already know... I love my vampire movies. And I did enjoy this one... but I definitely prefer the original. This one changed a lot of things compared to the original... but unfortunately some of the things they changed is things I really liked about the original. But then other things they changed was pretty cool. One of the things I really didn't care for is that they made the Peter Vincent character to be a Criss Angel wannabe. Which put me off a bit at first... but then he grew on me within the last 20min of the movie. Over-all I would say it is worth seeing... and I would like to eventually add it to my collection. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From What Movies I Been Watching on February 4th, 2012) Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Underworld: Rise of the Lycans Movie Count: 6 TV Ep. Count: 1 Other Count: 1 Time Started: 9:45am Plot: The prequel story traces the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires known as Death Dealers and their onetime slaves, the Lycans. In the Dark Ages, a young Lycan named Lucian (Michael Sheen) emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor (Bill Nighy), the cruel vampire king who has enslaved them. Lucian is joined by his secret lover, Sonja (Rhona Mitra), in his battle against the Death Dealer army and his struggle for Lycan freedom. My Thoughts: This is one I was really looking forward to seeing for the first time. And I did enjoy it quite a bit. Though I think I let the hype get to me a little as I was expecting a little more from it. After 2 sequels I think it was the perfect time for a prequel... showing us how the war between the Vampires and the Lycans started. I would say if you liked the other movies in the Underworld series... you can't go wrong here. My Rating Out of a Possible 5 (From Month Long Horror/Halloween Marathon: 2009 on October 3rd, 2009) "Due South" marathon, a review by Tom3.04 Strange Bedfellows (1997-10-05) Writer: Paul Haggis (Created By), R.B. Carney (Writer) Director: George Bloomfield Cast: Paul Gross (Constable Benton Fraser), Callum Keith Rennie (Stanley "Ray" Kowalski), Beau Starr (Lt. Harding Welsh), Camilla Scott (Inspector Margaret Thatcher), Tony Craig (Detective Jack Huey), Tom Melissis (Detective Dewey), Ramona Milano (Francesca Vecchio), Gordon Pinsent (Fraser Sr.), Anne Marie Loder (Stella Kowalski), Winston A. Rekert (Frank Orsini), David Storch (Dwayne Weston), Eugene Clark (Orsini's Assistant), Merwin Mondesir (Damon Reese), Susan Hamann (Diane Weston), Kedar (Tom Abbot), Paul de Silva (Dr. Tung), Christian Laurin (Chef) An okay episode. Here we see Stella, Ray's ex-wife, for the first time. Also Fraser's dad will from now on be more of a fixture in the series. He "build" himself a office inside of Fraser's closet. This leads to a running gag where Fraser's boss (Thatcher) will catch him talking to himself standing inside of his closet. Rating: (From "Due South" marathon on December 20th, 2009) |
