The Faculty, a review by addicted2dvdThe Faculty This hip and edgy thriller from the director of 'From Dusk Till Dawn' and the writer of 'Scream' and 'Scream 2' sizzles with a hot young cast including Elijah Wood ('Deep Imapct'), Josh Hartnett ('Hallowen: H2O') and R&B superstar Usher Raymond! When some very creepy things start happening around school, the kids at Herrington High make a chilling discovery that confirms their worst suspicions: their teachers 'really' are from another planet! As mind-controlling parasites rapidly begin spreading from the faculty to the students' bodies, it's ultimately up to the few who are left - an unlikely collection of loners, leaders, nerds and jocks - to save the world from alien domination! Also starring Robert Patrick ('Terminator 2'), Famke Janssen ('Deep Rising'), and Jon Stewart ('Playing By Heart') in a great cast - don't miss the unstoppable excitement of this unpredictably smart and scary hit! My Thoughts: From the title and description alone I am sure it is of no surprise that this movie is no more then a Teen Horror. But all the same it is good for some "Leave your brain at the Door" horror fun. I did have a problem with the beginning of this movie. When it showed the students coming to school they did a freeze frame with each of the main characters and flash their name on the still picture. In my opinion this takes away from the flow of the movie. When watching a movie I prefer the story to flow properly. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon 1/2 - 1/4 on January 4th, 2009) Red Water, a review by KinkyCyborgRed Water Title:Red Water Year: 2003 Director: Charles Robert Carner Rating: R Length: 92 Min. Video: Full Frame 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround Subtitles: Chinese, English, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai Stars: Lou Diamond Phillips Kristy Swanson Coolio Jaimz Woolvett Rob Boltin Plot: Dive into this carnivorous adventure when a massive man-eating Bull Shark takes over the quiet waters of the Mississippi. Nobody knows what or who is leaving behind mangled remains on the banks of a Louisiana River until it is revealed that there is one breed of shark that can live in fresh water - a giant carnivore, stalking the living under the surface. Now, as workers search the river for a source of natural gas, and criminals are hunting a buried treasure, it is up to a small group of hunters to find and destroy the murderous beast, bent on killing anything that leaves the shore... Extras: Scene Access Bonus Trailers Closed Captioned My Thoughts: Jaws this ain't... A nasty freshwater Bull shark goes on a feeding frenzy in creole country, Louisiana. The ravenous fish had a virtual buffet of tasty tidbits to choose from including tourists, fishermen, criminal treasure hunters and oil prospectors. Pretty predictable fare but at least the shark looked half ways real. Cast was rounded out by has beens Lou Diamond Phillips, Kristy Swanson (whom much to the shark's delight has packed on a few pounds), and Coolio who desperately needs to be introduced to a hair stylist. Probably as good as a made for TV shark movie is going to get. We have a crazy storyline and a lot of fun character moments. Frannie and Ray bickering. Thatcher having a bigger role and tagging along on the case.
