My Thoughts:
This is a movie I know I have seen before... but it has been many years. Probably in the '90s when it was first released on VHS. So basically the only thing I remembered about it was it had Robin Williams as a grown up Peter Pan and that I enjoyed it at the time. The first thing I thought before watching this movie... while setting up this review was this is a long movie! 2 hours and 22 minutes long? Wow! At that length I sure hope this movie holds up well for me.

As you can see from the cover I bought this one as a 2 disc set along with the movie The Indian in the Cupboard. A movie I am not sure if I ever seen. I really remember nothing about it. So I basically bought this one for Hook. If by any chance I don't care for either of them... at least I got this set cheap at only $5.99!

After watching the movie I have to admit... this one is nothing more then a huge production full of mindless fun. But I did enjoy every moment of it still. Even the slower moments of the movie was done in a fun way. I thought everyone in it done a great job. This movie alone was well worth the price I paid for the set. I was concerned about the length of this movie... but it was so fun that the time flew by so fast I didn't even notice how long it is. And if that is not the sign of good entertainment... I don't know what is. If you never seen this movie I definitely recommend it. But don't go into it expecting more then what it is. Nothing more then great imagery and mindless fun. Expect anything more then that then chances are you will be disappointed.

Plot:
The adrenaline-pumping kick ass 'Dead or Alive' videogame is taken to the next level as a movie from Hong Kong action legend Corey Yuen (The Transporter).

Three beautiful women - each a sizzling martial arts mistress - are invited to the world's ultimate secret fighting tournament to slug it out for a $10m prize.

Tina Armstrong (Jaime Pressly) is a sexy superstar pro-wrestler. Christie (Holly Valance) is a sultry master thief. Kasumi (Devon Aoki - Sin City, 2 Fast 2 Furious), is a proud Ninja princess, schooled in the ancient fighting arts. All three begin the awesome fighting contest as rivals, but soon must team up to defeat the tournament's sinister secret. Samurai swords slash and punches fly as the martial arts mayhem cranks up in DOA: Dead Or Alive.

I have never played or even seen any of the video games, the movie is based on. This is probably good, because I didn't have any expectations of how the characters should be like.
For me this movie is just a fun movie with over-the-top martial arts (and that much of it) and a lot of hot girls kicking ass.
I very much enjoyed this movie for what it is. Don't expect a deep story here, but who would anyway in a movie based on a fighting game?

"Stargate SG-1" Marathon, a review by DJ Doena

Synopsis: After a member of an SG team has attacked a Tok'ra the latter reveal that the Goa'uld have found a way to temper with the human mind. Without the knowlegde of the victim he/she is programmed for an assassination and it is conceiled with false memories. The problem is, that a summit between the president of the Unites States and the Tok'ra high council is coming up. This is endangered by two sleepers within the SGC: Sam and Jack.

My Opinion: Althought it was sad that Martouf died, I really liked this episode, especially the solution of why Sam and Jack aren't Zatarcs. I also liked, when Freya hit on Jack especially with her very "curve-hugging" outfit.

Synopsis: After an ancient device has been activated on a remote planet, Jack and Teal'c are stuck in a time loop, that lasts 10 hours. Every time the loop starts again only they can remember previous iterations.

My Opinion: Also a ver good episode that I liked a lot, practically it's a Groundhog Day episode - a fact that is mentioned by Jack at the end. I enjoyed it very much.

Synopsis: After the Stargate can't be opened again the SGC finds out the the Russians have resurrected the original Stargate from the bottom of the sea (where it lay since the crash of Thor's ship). But now they've opened a wormhole that can't be closed again and they need the help of SG-1.

My Opinion: What I liked about this episode is that the Russians are not portrayed as backward hillbillies. Okay, the screwed the pooch and Jack doesn't like them per se, but Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi in Star Trek: The Next Generation) played her role very well.

Synopsis: Daniel is on an excavation mission with another SG team. The planet is supposed to be the home planet of the Goa'ulds. They find skeletons and fossils of Goa'uld queens, but there are also the first hosts of the Goa'ulds: The Unas.

My Opinion: I liked this episode, too, because the Unas were portrayed as much more that the killing machines they've been before. Of course they are an extremly primitive race but it is possible to build a rapport to them and Daniel was the perfect person to do that. Funny was the reference to the Stargate movie where Daniel - just like this time - started an interaction with the help of army food.
