Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, a review by Rich

Adventure through Jordan...

Fedora and whip at the ready, Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) sets off on his third cinematic outing accompanied by none other than his father, Henry (Sean Connery). The Drs. Jones head to the cradle of civilization on a perilous hunt for the Holy Grail, which is also being sought after by -- of course -- the Nazis. No one is what they seem in this rousing adventure, which co-stars John Rhys-Davies, Denholm Elliott and Alison Doody.

The last of the original trilogy. Never reaching the high standards set by Raiders, it was more enjoyable than Temple which became rather too unbelievable in it's effort to surpass the first film. An enjoyable romp that entertains, with great score and audio. 6/10

The film Casablanca may have made Humphrey Bogart a star but to me his role as Fred C. Dobbs, the down on his luck drifter who agrees to go in search of gold in The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, is his greatest performance. In this one role we get to witness the versatility of his acting prowess as he portrays Dobbs as a troubled individual with a chameleon personality whose mood and mannerisms change like the wind. One moment he is in good cheer as he recounts for his partners how finding gold will not change him personally and the next he is a rambling, quivering mass of paranoia as he believes everyone is out to rob him blind. Bogart walks this fine line with the agility of a skilled tightrope walker, never going so far as to make his character appear a caricature.

This would be the second time that Bogart worked with director John Huston, and the arrangement must have suited Bogart well as they would make two more classic films together with Key Largo & The African QueenThe African Queen. Yet, one upshot of his role in this film would be the laying of groundwork for his portrayal of another paranoid and delusional character in The Caine Mutiny, Captain Queeg.

If you are un-familiar with the film history of Humphrey Bogart, most people will tell you start by watching Casablanca, but The Treasure of the Sierra Madre is all that and more. It could arguably be placed in the top ten films of all time.

Charmed Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

Disc 3:

8. Sam, I Am
Cole attacks The Charmed Ones as he realizes that he must eventually give in to his evil destiny in the hopes that the sisters will vanquish him and end his suffering.

My Thoughts:
This is a decent... but standard episode. Though this does does have a couple new things. First after coming to the realization that Phoebe won't have anything to do with him either way... he stops trying to be good. At least as hard as he has in the past. And of course Paige meets her birth father.. her mother's whitelighter.

9. Y Tu Mummy Tambien
A lovelorn demon mummifies Phoebe in his quest to find the perfect body to hold the spirit of his dead lover.

My thoughts:
Another good but standard episode. Nothing to special here... unless you count how good Phoebe looked in that Egyptian outfit.

10. The Importance Of Being Phoebe
After kidnapping Phoebe, Cole's scheming spells create mayhem for the remaining Charmed Ones as he tries to gain access to the powerful spiritual Nexus in the manor.

My Thoughts:
This episode was good. I actually had forgotten about the Nexus until they brought it up in this episode. It has been a while since we seen it mentioned at all. So it was good seeing them go back to it for an episode.

11. Centennial Charmed
Cole's twisted attempts to win Phoebe back destroys the Power of Three. The Charmed Ones must overcome the destruction he has caused and pull together to vanquish the desperate Cole.

My Thoughts:
Charmed's 100th episode! And what a great episode! Thank goodness... Cole is gone! Finally permanently vanquished! Well I do believe his spirit returns for one more episode... in I think it was season 7. But that is OK... as the Cole storyline has finally come to an end. I think they handled the 100th episode with fun... but in a serious way. And they did a great job mixing it together.
