Young Frankenstein, a review by DragonfireYoung Frankenstein Mel Brooks' monstrously crazy tribute to Mary Shelley's classic pokes hilarious fun at just about every Frankenstein movie ever made. Summoned by a will to his late grandfather's castle in Transylvania, young Dr. Frankenstein (GENE WILDER) soon discovers the scientist's step-by-step manual explaining how to bring a corpse to life. Assisted by the hunchbacked Igor (MARTY FELDMAN) and the curvaceous Inga (TERI GARR), he creates a monster (PETER BOYLE) who only wants to be loved. CLORIS LEACHMAN, MADELINE KAHN, KENNETH MARS and GENE HACKMAN co-star in this inspired vision of lunacy. My Thoughts I did get a review posted on Epinions a few years ago. Young Frankenstein (From Dragonfire's Halloween/Horror Marathon 2009 on October 22nd, 2009) Punisher - War Zone, a review by RichPunisher - War Zone Waging his one-man war on the world of organized crime, ruthless vigilante-hero Frank Castle sets his sights on overeager mob boss Billy Russoti. After Russoti is left horribly disfigured by Castle, he sets out for vengeance under his new alias--Jigsaw. With the "Punisher Task Force" hot on his trail and the FBI unable to take Jigsaw in, Frank must stand up to the formidable army that Jigsaw has recruited before more of his evil deeds go unpunished. Full of very graphic fighting and death scenes, as vivid as I can remember on any mainstream film, Ray Stephenson from Rome fame stars in this sequel. It is full of action, stunts, shocks, pumping music and brutal imagery. Not for the faint-hearted, this movie has very little storyline, zero suspense or intrigue. It is purely a hunt em and kill em action flick, with an actor 10 years too old for the role. (From Riches Random Reviews on March 16th, 2009) Sliders Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd4. PRINCE OF WAILS In the British States of America--a place where England won the Revolutionary War--the Sliders are embroiled in an assassination plot involving the heir to the throne and an evil Sheriff of San Francisco. My Thoughts: Not a bad episode... but really just kind of a standard filler episode. There really wasn't anything that was that exciting. My Rating: 5. SUMMER OF LOVE The Sliders find themselves in a present-day San Francisco where the "Summer of Love" never ended--and Wade and Rembrandt are mistaken for extraterrestrial prophets. My Thoughts: This is a fun episode. It was interesting to see the Sliders getting separated like that... not even knowing if they were on the same Earth. My Rating: 6. Eggheads While Quinn struggles with fame in a world where intellectuals are more popular than pro athletes, Arturo tries for a reconciliation with a long-lost love. My Thoughts: Another fun episode. I liked how they hold intelligence very high... and combined academics and sports for this dimension. My Rating: 7. The Weaker Sex Arturo finds himself in a potentially deadly mayoral race in a world where men are treated as "The Weaker Sex" and women hold the positions of power and respect. My Thoughts: While a good episode... this one isn't quite as good as the previous one. It had an interesting story... but it just didn't pull it off in my opinion. Close... but not quite.
