Wyatt Earp, a review by addicted2dvd

Wyatt Earp

My Thoughts:
This is one of the MANY Western movies I never seen. But it is also one I have been wanting to see for a while now. I found this to be a very strong (not to mention long) movie. It is a very well made movie that looks stunning. The story is very well told. Of course this is coming from someone not familiar with the story... just going by my enjoyment of the story. And lots of familiar faces. Including one I was surprised to see. That is Mark Harmon (Johnny Behan) who stars in one of my favorite current TV series... NCIS.

As long as this movie is... it never failed to hold my attention. Even though the picture on this movie for the most part looked fantastic on my cheap 20in standard TV... it is not without it's problems. most the night scenes (and there were plenty) was a bit too dark... making hard for me to follow everything that was going on. But over all I enjoyed every minute of this movie... and thrilled I now have it in my collection.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Ice Station Zebra, a review by Antares

Ice Station Zebra (1968) 68/100 - Not bad for a cold war espionage drama, but it could have been better had they tightened up some sections of the film. Way too much time is spent on the sub getting to the polar station, and it is here where the film tends to lag. The story itself is chock full of nail biting tension and the cast do an excellent job in portraying their roles. I've never been a fan of Rock Hudson, but he too, plays it realistically. Shear away about 35 minutes of the submarine action early in the film, and you might have had a classic.

What the color coding means...

Teal = Masterpiece
Dark Green = Classic or someday will be
Lime Green = A good, entertaining film
Orange = Average
Red = Cinemuck
Brown = The color of crap, which this film is

Pete's Pilots, a review by addicted2dvd

Earth 2

First Contact Part 1 and 2
Billionaire Devon Adair disregards government warnings when she hears of a new planet that offers hope for her Syndrome-stricken son, Ulysses. Together with a crew of hopeful "colonists," they embark on the journey to the Earth-like planet, G889, which is 22 light-years away.

My Thoughts:
I heard some good things about this series. So I blind bought it when I found the set on sale for about $15. After watching this double length pilot is that I hope it gets better. I mean it is not terrible... but it is far from what I would consider good. I just found the show slow... and found I wasn't caring about the characters. At least not up to this point.

My Rating:
