Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, a review by DJ DoenaStar Trek II: The Wrath of Khan William Shatner ... Admiral James T. Kirk Leonard Nimoy ... Captain Spock DeForest Kelley ... Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy James Doohan ... Cmdr. Montgomery "Scotty" Scott Walter Koenig ... Pavel Chekov George Takei ... Hikaru Sulu Nichelle Nichols ... Cmdr. Uhura Bibi Besch ... Dr. Carol Marcus Merritt Butrick ... Dr. David Marcus Paul Winfield ... Capt. Clark Terrell Kirstie Alley ... Lt. Saavik Ricardo Montalban ... Khan Noonien Singh The Enterprise has become a training ship under the command of Spock. And Kirk can't handle the fact that he getting old. But suddenly Kirk gets an emergency call from an old girlfriend because someone's out there who wants to even the score. My opinion: Khan is the best advisary a Starfleet captain could wish for. Only General Chang can level with him and both happen to have an interest in english literature. As to Spock: As much as I hate it when they kill good characters I have the utmost respect for someone who can apply the third principle of sentient life*. In my opinion there is a logic hole in the movie (although only a Trekkie would think of it) when it comes to Genesis: I can't imagine that the Federation would really be willing to let the Genesis experiment go so far. The arguments McCoy used must have come up earlier and they had to see how dangerous such a thing could be. *The third principle of sentient life is the capacity for self-sacrifice, the conscious ability to override evolution and self-preservation for a cause, a friend, a loved one. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.35 Audio: English: Dolby Digital Surround, Spanish: Dolby Digital Surround Subtitles: French, Spanish Stars: Sean Connery Klaus Maria Brandauer Max Von Sydow Barbara Carrera Kim Basinger Plot: Sean Connery is back for his final performance as superagent James Bond in this high-velocity action thriller from the director of The Empire Strikes Back. When two atomic warheads are hijacked by the evil SPECTRE organization, Agent 007 is hurled into an explosive pulse-pounding race to save the world from nuclear terrorists! Extras: Closed Captioned Collectible Booklet Scene Access Trailers My Thoughts: This was the first time that I have seen this movie. It is better than I have expected. In the beginning it was like a Bond parody. But I liked it as a Bond parody. Sadly they didn't really continue with this path.Rowan Atkinson was practicing for being Johnny English The character I most feared that it will suffer from the change in cast was Q. But I rather liked this take on the character. I found it good, that they addressed Sean Connery's age somewhat. But Connery still looks more believable as Bond at this age, than Moore ever did, in my opinion. BURY YOUR DEAD The shocking truth to a major secret is revealed with an explosive and deadly conclusion in the final showdown between the NCIS team and an elusive arms dealer. My Thoughts: This is a great start to the fifth season. It makes you think we are about to lose one of our main characters again. I really enjoyed every minute of it. So much so that I instantly watched it a second time with the commentary on. The commentary is with Michael Weatherly (Tony) with... and this was a fun surprise... his mother. My Rating: 2. FAMILY A startling discovery in an autopsy of a murdered Petty Officer leads Ducky and the NCIS team to search for a missing child. Meanwhile,Tony's feelings for Jeanne become more pronounced. My Thoughts: This is kind of an average episode. The main storyline really felt no more then a filler episode. Though I did like the side story of how Tony is handling loosing his girlfriend. My Rating: 3. EX-FILE While Investigating the murder of a Marine captain, Gibbs comes face to face with his past when a witness in the case turns out to be his ex-wife. My Thoughts: Not a bad episode... but I have definitely seen better. We once again have Colonel Mann in this episode. Which is really fun since we also have one of Gibbs ex-wives. My Rating: 4. IDENTITY CRISIS The NCIS team uncovers a web of criminal intrigue after Ducky determines that an unidentified cadaver is a career felon with unmistakable ties to a criminal mastermind. My Thoughts: This is a good episode. But definitely just a standard filler episode. No long running storylines really worked on or anything like that.
