Transylvania 6-5000, a review by addicted2dvd

Weekend Movie Marathon
Comedy-Horror
This weekend I am watching some of my Comedy-Horrors. For this I will be watching movies that has a generous amount of comedy mixed with horror aspects/characters. So this weekend I decided to watch...

Transylvania 6-5000
Tabloid reporters Jack Harrison (Jeff Goldblum) and Gil Turner (Ed Begley, Jr.) are sent to Transylvania with two choices: find the Frankenstein monster or find new jobs. But before the jumpy journalists can dig up their big story, they must first face the horrors of an extremely clumsy butler (Michael Richards), a nymphomaniac vampire (Geena Davis) and semi-mad doctor (Joseph Bologna), as well as assorted mummies, werewolves and more Transylvanian oddballs. Can these two bumbling heroes unravel this monstrous mystery or are they in for some very scary surprises?

My Thoughts:
This is a movie I have not seen in a very long time. Not since I first bought the DVD (5 years ago). While this movie has a few laughs in it... I have seen better. It was fun seeing Geena Davis in this somewhat early role. And I must admit she looked great in the vampire costume! Unfortunately I just didn't find the most of what they did very funny at all. But as I said... it does have a few good laughs... and some pretty good stars. It is worth a watch every now and then.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Pete's Pilots, a review by addicted2dvd

21 Jump Street
It all begins here, as baby-faced rookie Officer Tom Hanson (Johnny Depp) is assigned to an elite squad of young undercover cops - Judy Hoffs (Holly Robison Peete), Doug Penhall (Peter DeLuise) and Harry Truman Ioki (Dustin Nguyen) - to infiltrate high schools and fight crime. Frederic Forrest and Steven Williams co-star in this classic first season that also features such guest stars as Jason Priestley, Josh Brolin, David Paymer, Sherilyn Fenn and Blair Underwood in what became Fox's first runaway hit and remains on of the coolest cop shows in TV history!

Pilot (Part 1 & 2)

My Thoughts:
I really enjoyed re-watching this pilot. They did a good job at introducing all the characters. I liked how it followed how Hanson got into the Jumpstreet program. I kinda wish it showed that for all the characters... but they had so a good and already full 2-part pilot episode that I can understand why they didn't. When I originally watched this show I never cared for the hippie captain of the Jumpstreet program. But I did get used to him. And no sooner I got used to him they replaced him. Go figure!
