Plot:
When seven-year-old Junior comes into their lives, the Healys hope he will brighten their days. But Junior is more mischievous than they could have imagined as he turns ordinary days into full-scale comic nightmares. And the fun only continues when he moves to a new neighborhood and meets an equally mischievous little girl. It's twice the destruction and twice the fun!

I felt like something fun... in a silly way this morning. I remember seeing these movies when they were first released and remember enjoying them at the time so thought I would throw this disc in.

While this one still had some decent chuckles in it... it wasn't quite as good as I remembered it being at the time it first came out. But none the less... still fun. The whole time while watching this movie the guy playing "The Bow Tie Killer" looked very familiar to me... but I just couldn't put my finger on it. When I looked it up I saw he was played by Michael Richards (Kramer on Seinfeld). I don't know why I didn't see it instantly... because once I saw his name it seemed obvious. Anyway,,, as I said... a fun show. But going by memory I was expecting a bit more.

Some reason going into this one I really didn't remember much of it at all.  I do know I seen it before though. Not bad... but basically just more of the same. Maybe a little heavier on the silly side then the first one is. And it was kinda fun to see a little girl that is just as much trouble as Junior is.

This release has the two movies on one single sided DVD. So the first thing you get when you pop in this DVD is a menu to pick which movie you want to watch. Unfortunately the DVD is Pan & Scan and the only extras are the trailers. The DVD release could have been done much better. Preferably each movie on it's own disc with extras and in it's OAR. But oh well... all you can get is what is released. At least the movies are entertaining. And I can't complain... after all... this was a gift.

City of the Living Dead, a review by Jimmy

Title : City of the Living Dead (1980)

Overview
The Seven Gates of Hell have been torn open, and in 3 days the dead shall rise and walk the earth. As a reporter (Christopher George) and a psychic (Catriona MacColl) race to close the portals of the damned, they encounter a seething nightmare of unspeakable evil. The city is alive - with the horrors of the living dead!

My Impression
Now this is more what I expect from a Lucio Fulci's movie... This one is his best horror film after The Beyond and The New York Ripper (of course this is my oppinion). The story can be complicated to understand in the first viewing, so it's necessary to watch it 2 or 3 times to really appreciated it. The Living Deads are more frightening in this film, as in The Beyond, than in their American counterpart. They doesn't beat you by their number, they aren't dumb (for a dead person of course), they don't care about eating you (they just want to rip off your brain) and they can teleport themselves (it certainly look like that). The special effects are top-notch and really effective (the death scenes of Giovanni Lombardo Radice and Daniela Doria are two classic). You will see many familliar visages in the cast : Catriona MacColl (The Beyond), Christopher George (Day of the Animals), Venantino Venantini (Cannibal Ferox), Michele Soavi (director of Dellamorte Dellamore), Janet Agren (Eaten Alive), Perry Pirkanen (Cannibal Holocaust), Michael Gaunt (at least for me since he appeared in 15 adult movies that I own) and, of course, Giovanni Lombardo Radice and Daniela Doria. The score from Fabio Frizzi is effective (particullary the theme used when the living dead appear). The only critic as usual is the dubbing of the italian actors who sound too forced and unnatural.

Life on Mars


Out Here in the Fields
After an accident, NYPD detective Sam Tyler inexplicably finds himself back in 1973, where he must help solve a murder that is eerily similar to a case he was investigating in 2008.

My Thoughts:
I know this series is an American version of a series from the UK... but I never seen the original UK version so I can not compare this one to that. What I can do is tell you about this show as it stands on it's own. This pilot epiosde is a very good introduction to the characters. It has a very good, entertaining story that keeps your intrest throughout the entire episode. I like that his 2008 partner is played by Lisa Bonet (Denise on The Cosby Show)... and they made it clear how important she is to him. I also like how they do not make it clear if he is crazy, in the hospital in a coma dreaming it all or if he really somehow traveled through time. Even though the evidence points in a certain way you don't know for sure. This is the first time I seen this show since it originally aired in 2008... so it is fun watching this again now... as there is so much I forgotten about this show since then!
