Wolfhound, a review by dfmorgan

Wolfhound

Year: 2006
Director: Nikolai Lebedev
Cast: Aleksandr Bukharov, Oksana Akinshina
Overview: A ferocious epic of swords, medieval kingdoms, and vengeance, Wolfhound brings to life the saga of the last surviving member of a slaughtered tribe - enslaved, left for dead, destined to become the world's most feared warrior. Consumed by a lifelong quest to avenge his family's murder, he is drawn into an all-out war to destroy a vicious monster and save a nation. Based on a bestselling novel, Wolfhound is an extraordinary adventure, filled with thunderous battles, incredible special effects, and fantastic, never-before-seen creatures.

My Thoughts: A medieval hack and slash, I was going to say sword and sorcery but there was very little sorcery but plenty of swords hacking and slashing. The front cover reference to Conan The Barbarian is correct but I'm not too sure about the reference to Lord Of The Rings. Also, in my view, the last sentence in the overview is over the top. Overall, though, it was enjoyable but predictable.

My Rating: Enjoyable 3

Nadja, a review by goodguy

   Nadja (1994)-

Cover blurb:

I know too little about the genre, but it seems that in the '90s, vampire movies entered the arthouse cinema, and some even in glorious black and white. The best known is probably Abel Ferrara's The Addiction, a philosophical meditation with then indie icon Lili Taylor as the lead.

Pete's Pilots, a review by addicted2dvd

Home Improvement

Pilot
After Jill explicitly tells Tim not to touch the dishwasher, he breaks it in an attempt to make it more powerful; more of a "man's" dishwasher. Jill has a job interview, but she doesn't get it and when Tim tries to comfort her, he only makes matters worse. After talking to Wilson, Tim tries again and succeeds.

My Thoughts:
This has always been a sitcom I enjoyed. Though I do admit that the first episode wasn't as good as many episodes that followed. Some reason I still only have the first season of this show. One of these days I need to continue on this series.

My Rating:
