The Adjustment Bureau (2011), a review by Tom
Stars: Matt Damon as David Norris Emily Blunt Terence Stamp Jon Stewart Plot: The affair between a politician and a ballerina is affected by mysterious forces keeping the lovers apart. Extras:
My Thoughts: Not necessarily a time-travel movie, but the Adjustment Bureau sees the future.I enjoyed this movie, but I wouldn't call it a must-see. Matt Damon gives a solid performance, but nothing outstanding. Rating: (From Tom's Time-Travel Movie Reviews on September 25th, 2011) Miss Congeniality, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Sandra Bullock as Gracie Hart Michael Caine as Victor Melling Benjamin Bratt as Eric Matthews Candice Bergen as Kathy Morningside William Shatner as Stan Fields Ernie Hudson as McDonald Plot: Legs waxed. Lips glossed. Gun ready. Special Agent Gracie Hart is going undercover as a hopeful eager to be the next Miss United States. But Gracie doesn't have a beauty-pageant bone in her body. Sandra Bullock stars as an operative posing as a pageant contestant in order to ferret out a terrorist targeting the event. Michael Caine deliciously plays the frustrated consultant hired to turn Dirty Harriet into a poised beauty. And Benjamin Bratt, Candice Bergen, William Shatner and Ernie Hudson also score points for hilarity in this box-office smash. From big laughs to sly quips, Miss Congeniality hits. Extras:
My Thoughts: I enjoy watching this movie so much that I have now watched this DVD 6 times since I got it. And before that I had a bare bones edition DVD... which I watched who knows how many times. And of course I get teased about this all the time. And yes... I couldn't help but to watch it again. I have seen it so many times though... that this time I decided to watch it with the commentary track on. It has a commentary with Sandra Bullock so I listed to it. Made it more fun after watching it so many times. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Tuesday Mini-Marathon: Happy Birthday Sandra Bullock! on July 27th, 2011) Pete's Pilots, a review by addicted2dvdAll in the Family Those were the days. Norman Lear's landmark comedy featured one of the most beloved families in television history, the Bunkers. Starring Carroll O'Connor as Archie, Jean Stapleton as Edith, Rob Reiner as Mike "Meathead" Stivic and Sally Struthers as Gloria, "All in the Family" remains a Emmy Award-winning treasure. Watch this groundbreaking first season and just try to stifle your laughter! Meet the Bunkers It's Edith and Archie Bunker's 22nd wedding anniversary and their daughter Gloria and her husband Mike are planning a surprise Sunday brunch. Edith is pleasantly surprised, however, Archie's "no big deal" attitude leads to a huge argument with his son-in-law on topics ranging from Archie's prejudices, problems with the nation's government and Mike's atheism. My Thoughts: While this is a show I always enjoyed... I wouldn't say it is a favorite. I enjoyed it more back when I was younger then I do now. It could be because I have seen it so much over the years and I am just tiring of it. It definitely has it's laughs though. And is a show that you could never get away with airing now a day.
