My Thoughts: I have seen bits and pieces of this one before. But I think that this is the first time I seen the whole film. I did find it enjoyable. Some segments more then others. My favorite segment has to be "The Sourcer's Apprentice," At least for me one big downfall of this film has to be the narrarator. He just talked too much when introducing the segments. He should have announced the segments without telling us what we were about to see. So the film is entertaining enough... but could have been better. Sadly I found it even worse than in the past. There are so many things which have gone wrong here: - bad acting by some - very bad screenplay with a lot of plot holes - a lot of things which do not fit with the original trilogy. I can understand to some degree, why kids of today find it so good. Funny creatures (which only get on the nerve on those who have grown up with the original trilogy), fart jokes and so on. Even such a bad movie has some good things. Qui-Gon Jinn was a quite interesting character. The fight with Darth Maul is nice to look at. On a side-node: This 2001 DVD release has IMO a really bad picture quality. What difference a few years make. The 2004 edition of the original trilogy has a much better picture quality. Rating: (From Tom's Star Wars marathon on December 12th, 2008) The Flash Marathon, a review by addicted2dvdThe Flash Marathon Image: Mutated dog (German Shepard) after being injected with a secret serum. Episode 2 - Out of Control He needs subjects for genetic-engineering research - any volunteers? Tina's former colleague is the main suspect when the bodies of murdered homeless people mysteriously disappear from crime scenes. Guest Stars: Vito D'Ambrosio as Bellows Biff Manard as Murphy Mike Genovese as Lt. Warren Garfield Stan Ivar as Dr. Carl Tanner My Thoughts: A good episode... but not as good as the pilot movie. The transformations were done rather well. They definitely looked cool. Basically the story of a scientist that forgets his ethics while working on experimental gene mutations trying to cure disease. A case of someone doing the wrong thing for good reasons. But ends up getting lost on the way. My Rating: (From The Flash Marathon on April 7th, 2010) |
