My Thoughts: I just came back from the midnight showing of "The Rocky Horror Picture" show. There is a cinema in Munich, which has been showing this movie each week for decades, including audience participation.I had already planned to watch this movie for this marathon. And when a friend proposed to watch this movie in the cinema, I immediately agreed. The idea originally came at the Oktoberfest, after the band had played "Time Warp". I didn't really know what to expect of this cinema visit. I almost feared that we would be the only one not dressing up. But there wasn't anyone who did. I also expected that there will be maybe ten people or so. After all, the movie has been playing there forever. I was really surprised, that the cinema (which is a small one - holding around 60 seats) was packed to the last seat. This movie is one of my all-time favorite musicals even if it is a little ourageous. The B-movie parody style makes this movie time-less. I never get tired hearing the movie's soundtrack. I first came to attention of this musical, because of my mother. She is a big fan of it and had urged me to watch it. I first saw it when I was about 12 and even then I enjoyed the music. Rating: (From Tom's Horror Marathon 2012 on October 20th, 2012) Hellboy, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Hellboy Year: 2004 Director: Guillermo Del Toro Rating: PG-13 Length: 122 Min. Extras: Scene Access Audio Commentary Trailers Featurettes DVD-ROM Content Closed Captioned Video Introduction by Guillermo del Toro My Thoughts: This is one I bought blind when it was recommended to me by a few different people. After watching it I am glad I added it to my collection. The movie is a lot of fun. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Of course it is not a movie to be taken seriously. Just something fun to waste a couple hours with. If you try to over think this one... that will do nothing but take away from the enjoyment. Since I never seen the comics I couldn't tell you how well this movie follows them. Now I need to see if Hellboy II is still on On-Demand. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Addicted2DVD's November Alphabet Marathon on November 10th, 2009) Tom's TV Pilots marathon, a review by TomWonderfalls Season 1.13 Caged Bird Writer: Krista Vernoff (Writer) Director: Michael Lehmann Cast: Caroline Dhavernas (Jaye Tyler), Katie Finneran (Sharon Tyler), Tyron Leitso (Eric Gotts), Lee Pace (Aaron Tyler), William Sadler (Darrin Tyler), Diana Scarwid (Karen Tyler), Tracie Thoms (Mahandra), Neil Grayston (Alec), Jeffrey R. Smith (Mall Security Guard), Glenn Fitzgerald (Bank Robber), Jewel Staite (Heidi), Elissa Lansdell (Reporter), Diego Fuentes (Cop #1), Susie Dias (Cop #2), Demetrius Joyette (Shoplift Kid), Bryan Hart (Night Cleaner), Michael Anthony (Costumer #1), Stefanie Drummond (Costumer #2), Scotch Ellis Loring (Muse Voice (voice)) A great show with only great episodes (except one: "Totem Mole" was garbage full of unindented racism). This last episode is just as good as the others. And a good conclusion. I have read how the series would have continued if it had another season or two. Could have been interesting, but could also have been bad. This way we got one great season without a major cliffhanger. (From Tom's TV Finales marathon on January 13th, 2022) |
