Taare Zameen Par, a review by dfmorgan

Taare Zameen Par

Year: 2007
Director: Aamir Khan
Cast: Darsheel Safary, Aamir Khan, Tisca Chopra
Overview: Eight-year-old Ishaan's world is filled with wonders that no one else seems to appreciate. Adults are more interested in things like homework and marks. And Ishaan just can't seem to get anything right in class. When he gets into more trouble than his parents can handle, he is packed off to boarding school to 'be disciplined'... New Art teacher, Nikumbh, soon realizes that something is wrong and sets out to discover why. With time, patience and care, he ultimately helps Ishaan find himself.

Watched: 12th Mar. 2011
My Thoughts: A captivating and really enjoyable film. No real surprises and a nice use of songs with no dance accompaniment.

My Rating: A captivating 4

My Thoughts:
This is a movie I got by accident. I got it from Columbia House but the only reason I got it is because I never got the mailing to tell me about and give me the chance to refuse it. I was kind of upset about this as It's Complicated really wasn't a movie I was worried about seeing right away. The trailer... while entertaining... looked like it could have been hit or miss. So I planned to wait and catch it on cable first.

I decided to pop it in first thing this morning... and I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. It really is on the subtle side. But it is an entertaining romantic comedy. There was really only one laugh-out-loud hysterical part in the movie.... but the entire movie did keep a smile on my face. I think all three... Meryl Streep, Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin did a great job and was a lot of fun to watch. I am pleasantly surprised this became a good addition to my collection.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Angel Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

Angel: Season 4

19. The Magic Bullet
Original Air Date: 4/16/2003
With Angel and the others under Jasmine's extraordinarily divine power, Fred's life is in danger and she goes on the run. After discovering the secret to breaking Jasmine's spell over the nation's citizens, Fred must find a way to save the others before she's captured and killed.

Guest Stars:
Gina Torres
Danny Woodburn
Patrick Fischler

My Thoughts:
Enjoyed this episode as well. Fred figures out how to get Angel to see what she sees... and between the 2 of them the get the rest of the group to see it too. But now they are all on the run. As I know many of you here like Firefly... Jasmine is played by the actress that plays Zoe. But she will only be on the series for 2 more episodes now.

My Rating:
